I've had this lamp for a while and I'm tired of the colored shades. I've searched far and wide for replacement shades and have had no luck but I don't want to buy a whole new lamp.

Not a good idea, the shades get hot and paint would like scorch.

It depends on the material and whether you want and light coming through the material but no matter what it will reduce the lumens through the material significantly. You just need to make sure you get the correct coating for the material and something that has low voc's.

There is one switch. They turn on in sequences; first two lights, then three lights and then all five.

yes, but you would be much wiser if you stayed with the LED bulbs. Did you know that if you break a CFL bulb in your home everyone, including pets, is to immediately exit your home and call the appropriate government agency to clean your home. That is because of the mercury in the CFL bulb. The attributes of the LED are: very long life, almost no heat generated, very low cost to use, it is truly the bulb of the future. Another drawback to the CFL; you are never to dispose of them in the trash. You have to call an agency to pick one up. I don't know if there is a charge or not. The initial cost of the LED seems to be high until you factor in the very long life, 20 or 30 years or more. Read Less

67 in. 5-Arm Silver/Painted Floor Lamp is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 66.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from nice product I bought this to take with me, where ever, as my poor old eyes aren't nearly what they used to be. I didn't realize the lamps turned on separately. That was a bonus. Nice looking with all the different shades. Very pleased.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good So far so good. The lamp works fine as expected we had one like this before. I ordered it by mail and had to replace it at the store because it was broken which was a pain but it was easy to put together and we are satisfied

Rated 1 out of 5 by from All the rods are not tapped!!! Purchased last week and got it home and all the rods were not tapped so it would not screw to the base. Home Depot ordered another one so hopefully it will be tapped so it will screw together.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Playroom for Daughter We bought this product for our daughters playroom and it completes the flow of her whole room. She loves it which in turn makes us love it

Rated 3 out of 5 by from For an inexpensive lamp, lightbulbs make it $$ The lamp costs $20. Two packages of energy efficient light bulbs (5 total) costs $22. Total cost is $42. The lamp looks nice. I like the ability to turn on 2, 3, or 5 of the individual lights. But why did they need to put in the Candelabra design for a lamp that uses plastic shades? 5 regular energy efficient light bulbs cost 98 cents. 5 energy efficient Candelabra light bulbs cost $22! If you are looking for an inexpensive lamp, this is NOT the one to get.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Dorm Room Lamp This lamp is perfect for a dorm room. My daughter says it's perfect especially with a roommate, she can turn on fewer lights so her roommate can sleep while she continues to study. My question is: How to get replacement shades? These are plastic and my daughter melted one by using the wrong bulb in it. Can I purchase new ones somewhere?

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Would have been 5stars if the didn't swap out yellow for a rotten green My daughter picked this out for her younger sister while I was browsing through the aisles. My only complaint is that of the 5 colors, they swapped out the nice yellow on the picture for a dirty green which is pretty ugly. The other colors are nice, and the yellow would have complimented them perfectly. The light is quite bright with 2 or 3 bulb mode, and the kids never use the 5 bulb mode. (I use 40W incandescent bulbs). I would recommend it, if you are ok with colors different from the picture (maybe get somebody in the store to open the box to see if you're going to get the right colors).

Rated 4 out of 5 by from very affordable Please make sure you are checking bulbs. It is better if you use the CFL even the 40w b base bulbs they say to use can melt the plastic. Better to be saft than sorry.
