Perfect little lamps you touch to adjust the light.....just right for our entry table! Would be also great at a child's bedside as it's a hit with my grandchildren!

This is a beautiful lamp that works well when used with a 60W incandescent bulb.
However, although it's not mentioned on the box, the manual states that this lamp can only be used with incandescent bulbs and not flourescent bulbs. I tried it with the Cree daylight LED 60W replacement light bulb. Unfortunately, they would audibly hum and visibly flicker when used together.
Also note that this lamp will use 0.4W of power even when it's off. This is probably to power the touch sensor, but given that newer lights (such as the Cree light bulb) are only supposed to use 9W when fully on, this is a relatively significant amount of power to waste all day long.
The felt pad at the base of mine wasn't applied correctly on one spot, but that's just a minor issue that isn't noticeable when the lamp's in use.

These lamps are amazing! I needed diffuse lighting for my church Music Room, and they provided exactly what I needed to make music reading easy!

I purchased this lamp because of its looks and good light dispersion. It worked fine with an incandescent 60W bulb. After seeing the CFL warning I tried it with a 9W Cree daylight LED 60W bulb replacement and it works fine, with none of the problems seen by another reviewer. Seems like a great lighting solution for my particular application (illumination of webcam subject alongside a computer in a dark corner).
