Answer:
No, they cannot. However, I cannot imagine why you would want to do that. The design as it is built sends plenty of light, and I love the indirect nature of it. A very bright fixture.

Hey jane,
You're asking your question from my hometown :-)
Unfortunately, these cannot be reversed, as they are welded into place.
We do carry various other options here on our website that do shine down.

Customer Reviews

Addison 5-Light Oil Rubbed Bronze Chandelier is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 31.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Its not too bad I figured for the amount of money I paid for this product it would be virtually flawless. Well, when I opened the packaging, the stained glass shades were very oily and the packagi was turned inside out which caused the writting on the packaging to stick to the shade. Also, the quality of the shades weren't as high quality as I thought they would be. Not all the edges lined up some were way off. It's still very lovely but not as high of quality as I would have thought it should have been for the price. Probably because it was/is made in China.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So glad I purchased When we bought our fixer upper colonial, this was one of the first items I purchased. We always get compliments on it and people say that it looks like it went with the house all along. We recently had our dining room remodeled and this was the one item everyone agreed to keep and we designed around its style. Great purchase. My husband shortened the chain and we have it on a dimmer switch. Happy and I would highly recommend it!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Cheap Piece of Junk I don't even know where to begin in describing how incredibly disappointed I am in the shoddiness and cheapness of this fixture. I am amazed by all the good reviews on here. I wonder if somehow I got a different product than everyone else! First of all, when I opened the package and pulled out the fixure, I noticed that the Styrofoam surrounding the lampshades had yellow stains. This is because the glass shades all had some sort of oil on them when they were wrapped in the "protective" plastic bag and then placed in the Styrofoam. To make matters worse, the black print on each of the plastic bags (detailing how you shouldn't put this bag over your baby's head) had rubbed off onto each of the shades. I had to spend about a good 10 minutes on each of the shades rubbing off the oily substance and ink that had transferred from the bags. The second disappointment is in the structure of the lampshades themselves. The lines of metal between the glass pieces are not straight, some of the finish has rubbed off, and there are gobs of metal in the corners and the places where they shouldn't be. Additionally, the geometric print design is simply a thin, poorly cut metal stencil outline that is barely adhered to each shade. They are not cut out properly, as the middle of the stencil has been left by mistake on a lot of the designs. Some of the pieces that shouldn't be there pop off easily, but others are simply just stuck on. I can tell that this piece is going to be a cleaning nightmare. When I was trying to get the oily substance off the shades with a microfiber cloth, the fibers of the cloth kept getting caught on the poorly adhered geometric stencil. I have no doubt that within a short period time these geometric stencil outlines will either break, fall off, or be twisted and bent on the shade. I have not yet installed this product cannot comment on that part. I will likely be returning this lamp.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice looking, so-so quality Purchased this light fixture for the dining room in our 1920's tudor home. Great looking and fits right in. I gave the light 3 stars because of quality issues: there is a sticker that was attached to part of the light fixture which pulled off the bronze finish in several places when we removed it. Why place a sticker on the fixture!!!! Also, there are five lights in the chandelier and the part that holds each bulb (not sure what it is called) was significantly shorter on one bulb. This means that the glass lamp doesn't screw in properly on one of them. Of course, we didn't realize the problem with the sticker or bulb fixture until it was hung or we would have returned it. Purchase at your own risk. As I mentioned, it's a great looking chandelier.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from beautiful product This is a beautiful product. Previously we purchased the three lamp chandelier for our dining room. AS we are moving to a larger house, we wanted the same chandelier for the new home, only with more lights. We were so pleased to find the same model with 5 lamps.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very nice in our entry! This fixture went up in no time and looks great in our entryway. It was what we hoped for, and at a very reasonable price, especially compared to some other fixtures we liked. Arrived quickly, well packaged, but easy to get out and install. The bulb sockets were not the smoothest I have ever screwed a light bulb into, but certainly work fine. The entire fixture, including glass was not near as heavy as I expected, but it sure looks great. I had a bit of a time removing links from the chain without scratching the remaining links, so use caution. Highly recommended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from second review, pictures added Dimmer switch has been placed, had a problem before, now perfect chandelier. Love everything about this product

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Glass is cheap and panels misfit There's a reason why this light is only sold online. If people could see that the hexagonal glass globes are slapped together and aren't even, they'd decide it wasn't worth the 300 bucks. The geometric patterns on the glass are stenciled on in lead and bleed together in numerous spots. Some would say that's the nature of tiffany, but I guess I expected more. The lamp body itself is very well made and solid, which is why this fixture is getting an average review instead of one star. I'm going to keep it anyway, but expected better quality globes for the money. You'll want to open this outside, as I'll be cleaning up the styrofoam it was packed in for days. Kudos to order fulfillment though, as this was shipped out two days after I ordered it and it came in the next day (ordered on Tuesday evening and arrived on Friday). Even though it came in UPS, the box wasn't dented at all and nothing broken.
