Customer Questions & Answers

Does this table have a leaf insert to expand to full length or is fixed at full length. If expandable, what is the length of table without the leaf?

Asked by: retired
The table has 2 leaf inserts that are attached below the table-top surface. They are exposed when you pull the table appart, then you rotate the leaves into position. I'm not sure of the exact measurement, but I think both leaves together add about 22 inches to the overall table length to accomodate 8 people. It will only seat 6 when the leaves are removed.

Confused: leaf/leaves or not?

We've looked at questions regarding this and there are two answers. Some say there is a leaf and others say fixed length. The photo for the larger table seems to show a latch mechanism on the side and the top photo sure looks like there are two leaves. (The top photo for the shorter not as clear...perhaps one leaf?) We need to know the shortest lengthes of both because of storage concerns. Would appreciate a "for sure" answer for both the shorter 78" table and the longer 91" one. Thanks!
Asked by: CoronadoGaggle
The table has 2 leaf sections that are attached to the table. They are exposed when you pull the table open - then you rotate the two leaves into place. You can then put them back down below the table's surface if/when you want the table to be smaller (sits 6 instead of 8).

Size of "bolts" that were suppose to be included ?

Does anyone know the size of the 6 "bolts" that were suppose to be enclosed to put the table together (that I did not receive and now have to wait another week to receive) …… any idea how frustration it is to lug a 110 lb table to the yard by your self after waiting 2 weeks to get it and find no hardware in the box ? The assembly instructions do not say the size of the bolt anywhere that I can find - it just says "bolt".

How much weight can chairs hold?

Asked by: Eucalypus
I think the chairs are rated at 300 pounds, but I'd guess 250 would be better. The arm chairs are a bit narrow for any "wide body" so they would not be usable for a really large person.

Adelaide Eucalyptus 9-Piece Patio Dining Set is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 4.

I have prior experience purchasing inexpensive furniture. It generally has NOT been a satisfying experience. This is a wonderful example of a product that far exceeded my expectations. Not only is it made well, but is easy to assemble and does not seem at all "cheap" in any way. Having shopped for teak furniture for my new screen house I was amazed at the wide range of quality and price. Yet a teak set even 75% as complete as this set started in the $3500 area (and way up from there). I researched Eucalyptus to find it is second only to teak in durability and weather resistance. So I decided for less than $1000 (way less) I would give it a try. I am SOOOOOO glad I did. The engineering of the fold away middle leaf in the table is excellent (not mickey mouse) and BIG bonus in this set. Leaf folds under table and it makes a perfect table for 6, but folded out is very comfortable for the full 8 seating. (3 chairs per side, with arm chairs at the ends). This feature in a quality teak set would cost thousands more (not hundreds) So why is it so much less, but still quality outdoor furniture? I think because the finish is just a little bit rough. Frankly you are going to want to treat the furniture before use anyway, so I didn't care. A light sanding, and 2 coats of Teak Sealer (not Teak oil) and I defy you to look at this set in my screen house & know it was under $1000. It is perfect in my 10'x20' screen house. I also bought an extra set of chairs and small table for the other end of the screen house. It all fits perfectly. The only negative would be the less the perfect finish, but you can do that yourself with as much work as you care to do. You need to seal Teak and Eucalyptus if you want it to keep the warm color. I have other teak I have let go gray, and it's OK. To me I like the warm wood tone, and a teak sealer was the way to go for me. This furniture will live 24/7 & 365 in this outdoor screen house in frigid Northern Ohio winters and hot summers. Yes it is under a roof not too exposed to UV. We will see how it holds up. I doubt it will fare better than my grayed teak stuff, but if it fares as well, for 1/5th the price, I'm a happy camper. HIGHLY recommended. Also a big bonus that the chairs are sturdy FOLDING chairs. For the winter, I am able to fold up all the chairs and store upright under one cover and then a decent cover for the table and voila' ps: Be prepared when this arrives at your door. The packing is EXCELLENT. I think it comes in the same boxing it left the Asian factory for overseas shipment. As such it is VERY well packed in heavy cardboard with lots of poly styrene protection. Nothing was broken or damaged in any of my boxes. Mine came in 4 boxes. The table and 2 chairs, and 3 boxes for the other sets of chairs (2 each box). It was a lot of stuff. The table box is big and heavy. Just carefully cut the tape on 3 sides so the lid simply folds back open. No need to hurry and break something, carefully begin removing the packing material, etc. I did it myself, but it would be easier with 2 people. The table assembly was also easy. Step by step. IMPORTANT TIP: Do not tighten too much at first. Get everything together and set up on a flat surface, like your garage or deck. Once everything is to your liking, slowly tighten the table bolts, then the chairs, etc. Don't over tighten and damage wood, but have the folding chairs tight enough they are steady and still fold easily. The chairs come assembled, but I tightened the bolts to make it feel as rigid as possible without effecting the folding.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Beautiful Set The chairs come fully assembled & have nice lumbar support that was surprizing. Table assembly was easy & quick, but takes 2 people since you have to flip the table over to put on the legs, etc. The set comes treated with Tug oil, so it's ready for outside right away. The only down-side is that all of the chairs do not completely fit under the table at full extension - its a couple of inches short for that to happen. That's not a huge issue, but it is something to consider.
