I love the modern look of this fan, most cheaper ones are either dark wood or white, and look cheap. This one is beautiful, and looks just as good as a Casablanca costing hundreds. Almost all my furniture is light-colored wood from Ikea and this matches perfectly. IMO with the light wood, frosted glass and chrome, it looks really expensive. Everyone I showed it to so far said "wow!" and I know they were thinking I spent a lot more than I did. Some reviewers said it was heavy which worried me but it installed just fine in my drop ceiling. I paid someone to install it but it didn't seem they had any issues with installation. It's winter so I haven't really tested it, but it has angled blades and seems to move air well. I looked all over the net before I bought this, and this was by far the closest to the look I wanted with a good price, too. I couldn't be more thrilled with it.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by KK20120 Stylish but noisy and too low for a flush mount.
It's an unique and stylish fan but unfortunately it hums, and too low for low ceiling bed rooms. I just installed one in 1.5 hours (instructions are not too bad). The biggest problem however is it hums, not from the blade/wind, but from the motor and it's very noticeable. I don't think I can stand hearing this humming sound all night. The pull chain is also not that smooth to operate. Another draw back is it stands too low for a flush mount in a bed room. The mount + blade + light is well over 15" I think. This ceiling fan can work more in the open spaces like family room, living room. But in close space like bedroom, it's too much noise and too low.

Love, love these fans! We just installed 2 in the kitchen and they really help keep it cooler when cooking. Love the look - like a sculpture! We also liked that the fan blades come out of the housing - never have seen that before....but that's why I only gave 4 stars for ease of installation, as they were a little harder to screw in that way. Read some reviews - ours don't make any humming at all. Also I don't think it's really very bright, but that's not a problem as I have a lot of other lighting available. Just wish they used regular light bulbs (these have the smaller base). Would definitely recommend it!!!

No assembly issues, fan has kind of an industrial modern look that I like (goes well with my old New England style house). Install was relatively easy. I've had Hampton Bay fans before and they all work well, good quality. I do agree with a couple comments that the fan speed chain is not the smoothest because it passes through a hole in the glass and is a little notchy, but I tend to leave it on one speed and use the wall switch so not a big deal to me. If you are constantly adjusting the speed with the chain it might be annoying. Some people mentioned fan noise, and at first I heard a slight ticking sound which I thought was the motor, but on further investigation discovered that it was the lamp chain (which does operate smoothly) clicking side to side in the metal hole with an extremely slight movement of the fan (probably due to my mounting situation, not the fan itself). I put a small piece of tape in there to limit the chain movement a little bit to one side, and no more sound. Overall, very happy with this fan. Light level is good.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by chikita Nice looking fan and easy to install.
I was looking for a fan that was flush mount and easy to install as I am a single female of 64 years old. After reading the reviews I figured this was the right one and the first for me tackle. It took me about 2 hours because I took my time making sure I did step by step...so for women out there..you can do it!
Love the fan..there is a slight hum, but you have to listen for it, blades run very smooth and even in it`s lowest setting you can feel the air circulating. The light is not very bright but a soft light. The blades took the longest because you have to screw them in from underneath. The way they are set in they seem sturdier and less apt to wobble. Very happy with this item.

I purchased two of these fan's for a condo that I was selling last year. They were on sale at a good price, and I have had good success with Hampton bay products in the past. I got them both up and the light worked on one, but not the fan. I discovered that the motor for the fan was defective, so, I take it down, return it , get another one. Fans worked good for about 6 months, now they both do not work. These must have been defects, hence the cheap cost. Like I said, Hampton bay usually makes a good product, I guess it was just not my day for ceiling fans!
