I purchased two of these fan's for a condo that I was selling last year. They were on sale at a good price, and I have had good success with Hampton bay products in the past. I got them both up and the light worked on one, but not the fan. I discovered that the motor for the fan was defective, so, I take it down, return it , get another one. Fans worked good for about 6 months, now they both do not work. These must have been defects, hence the cheap cost. Like I said, Hampton bay usually makes a good product, I guess it was just not my day for ceiling fans!

Rated 2 out of 5Â by KK20120 Stylish but noisy and too low for a flush mount.
It's an unique and stylish fan but unfortunately it hums, and too low for low ceiling bed rooms. I just installed one in 1.5 hours (instructions are not too bad). The biggest problem however is it hums, not from the blade/wind, but from the motor and it's very noticeable. I don't think I can stand hearing this humming sound all night. The pull chain is also not that smooth to operate. Another draw back is it stands too low for a flush mount in a bed room. The mount + blade + light is well over 15" I think. This ceiling fan can work more in the open spaces like family room, living room. But in close space like bedroom, it's too much noise and too low.

Love this ceiling fan. The only downfall is I wish the light was brighter. Maybe some new bulbs will help.
Sharp looking and excellent air circulation. I would definitely recommend.

No assembly issues, fan has kind of an industrial modern look that I like (goes well with my old New England style house). Install was relatively easy. I've had Hampton Bay fans before and they all work well, good quality. I do agree with a couple comments that the fan speed chain is not the smoothest because it passes through a hole in the glass and is a little notchy, but I tend to leave it on one speed and use the wall switch so not a big deal to me. If you are constantly adjusting the speed with the chain it might be annoying. Some people mentioned fan noise, and at first I heard a slight ticking sound which I thought was the motor, but on further investigation discovered that it was the lamp chain (which does operate smoothly) clicking side to side in the metal hole with an extremely slight movement of the fan (probably due to my mounting situation, not the fan itself). I put a small piece of tape in there to limit the chain movement a little bit to one side, and no more sound. Overall, very happy with this fan. Light level is good.
