Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Brinks I finally have my fireplace!!
I had been searching for a fireplace entertainment center for quite some time. I wanted one that would match my current end tables and was not real tall. I found everything I was looking for and more by purchasing this unit. I LOVE IT!! The color is exactly what I wanted and I love the side glass cases. The best part is that the fireplace can be used with or without heat making it even more functional. This was probably one of my best purchases ever!!

This new fireplace TV stand combo from Hampton Bay allows you to display your big screen TV (up to 65") or other items and enjoy the soft glow and heat of a small fire without having to install venting or a chimney.
The finish on the cabinet is flawless on all sides. A very dark red, nearly black tone, with the edges just slightly lighter than the centers, as if they have worn a bit. It's better than basic black yet fits into just about any decor.
The entire cabinet arrives in one large carton. It weighs well over 100 pounds. Instead of trying to get this into the upstairs spare room in the box we opened the carton on the first floor and carried the interior boxes up one by one. It's packaged very well, each part is wrapped in stryofoam fabric and cushioned with more stryofoam blocks. Every single piece was in great shape with no scratches or stress cracks.
You can assemble the entire cabinet with one phillips screwdriver. No allen wrenches, sockets or hammers needed. That's great. Following the directions and making sure to orient each part based on the letters and arrows in the manual and the letters and arrows labeled on the part will have the entire piece of furniture assembled in 90 minutes by yourself. Though two people make it much easier to set the top on. If you have never assembled furniture, give yourself two hours or so and follow those directions closely.
There was one glaring issue with assembly and it was the hardware. The cam locks were made of poorly cast metal. I snapped four of them and I barely applied any force when I turned them. I've assembled this type of furniture before and never had this issue. Turn the cam locks very gently. If you feel any resistance, stop or they will break. Hampton Bay needs to look into that and upgrade the hardware. At this price point, I expect better than average hardware and these camlocks were garbage. They provided only a few spares, but luckily I was able to complete the assembly with them. Again, at this price, excellent hardware should be included, they should not skimp.
Other than the cam lock hardware issue, the assembly was a breeze, even the hinges went on the doors and leveled out in seconds. No steps were confusing or frustrating.
The small side shelves have their back corners removed to allow for running A/V cables and each side panel has an access hole to allow those panels to all exit behind the fireplace box. The side shelves are not adjustable in height, but are removable.
The doors/glass are pre-assembled and use tempered glass. If they break, no shards, just little pieces. Much safer than regular glass.
They also include an anti-tip strap to keep the cabinet from tipping away from a wall with a large TV on it.
Two styles of handles are included. Espresso finish and brushed nickel. I went with the Espresso to blend in.
An attractive flat black paint finishes the firebox and contains the fake logs, fire pattern and bulbs (two 40W chandelier bulbs are replaceable). A remote is included.
There is no sound, and I always thought it would be cool if these electric ones had a speaker to play the sound of a crackling fire. Maybe someone will add that some day.
You may adjust the brightness of the fire in five steps using the control panel on the fireplace or the included remote.
The heater gives off two levels of heat, also adjustable with the remote. High level on the heater is the equivalent of most other 1400 watt space heaters. It will heat a small room and is very quiet.
Everyone likes to know what size furniture will be so I measured it all up to see how close the factory specs are.
Height - 32 3/4"
Width - 56 1/2"
Depth - 17 3/4"
Side Shelves - 11 3/4" wide, 14 1/2" deep
Center Shelf Above Fireplace- 25" wide, 15 3/4" deep
Overall, a nice cabinet with a great quality finish that assembles fast. If they upgraded the hardware this would be five stars.

I love this fireplace console! It was the perfect fit for my living room. Puts out good amount of heat! The instructions could have been a little bit clearer regarding which side to put boards on but I figured it out after almost done with assembly and had to disassemble to correct mistake. I read reviews before buying and everyone was right about the weight. It's heavy, so be prepared to have help to carry into house or remove smaller packed boxes little by little to save your back.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Renie EXCELLENT QUALITY AND VALUE!
I love my new fireplace media center. If this piece hadn't been discontinued I would have bought another one in Expresso for my kitchen. Im not sure why it was discontinued because it is such a beautiful piece of furniture. I put it in my den and the Cherry/Black finish coordinates beautifully with my black leather couch, work station and bamboo floors.
The assembly directions were clear and it was not difficult to put together with two people but it did take longer than the instructions indicated - probably more like two hours - because we are not carpenters and don't have alot of experience.
I had it delivered but it was too heavy to bring in the house so I took the advice of other posters, opened the large box and carried the smaller boxes individually. Thanks to everyone for their excellent reviews which assisted me in my purchase.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Pete Looks good, puts out decent heat
This is a pretty nice looking fireplace once it is assembled. It really cleans up all the tangled web of cords that always happens with electronics. This unit has access holes throughout to run and hide all of that inside and behind the unit. I've included a picture to give an idea what it looks like with a tv, playstation and xbox all hooked up. Assembly was fairly easy, if you have ever assembled boxed furniture you can handle this. One complaint, however, is that this is held together with cam locks. These break pretty easy and there are no extras included in the package. I have a Hampton Bay Chatham series fireplace in my living room and there is a noticeable quality difference. I would recommend looking at one of those if you have the extra money. This is a nice unit though for the price. The firebox itself looks nice and puts out a fair amount of heat. I have this setup in my basement so it is nice to have something to take the edge off in the winter. The fan is quiet and won't disrupt your viewing/listening. Overall I am pleased with the way it looks, but mostly the clean look that is achieved with all the wires and cables hidden.

I am very pleased with the Ashbury Fireplace I got from Home Depot. Assembly is required and is similar to assembling any manufactured furniture piece.
The fireplace lets off a nice glow and has adjustable brightness settings. The heater is relatively quiet and has adjustments. The remote is a great feature, you can turn up the heat from across the room. It looks great with a TV on top of the cabinet. I am very happy and recommend this product.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by MikeyZ Very nice design- and easy to put together.
Very nice design- Simple to put together- but takes at least 3 hours of assembling by yourself. Well worth the time though! This is my 3rd time putting a different electric fireplace together- and was the easiest and most rewarding based on quality, size, and value at the time. It's a shame it's being discontinued.
