Can you reprogram remotes so one remote does not turn on all other fans in house?

I have 3 of these fans throughout the house. I thought I was going crazy. I would leave a room and turn off the light with the remote, leaving fan on. Then go into another room turn on fan or light, etc., then I would return to first room to find light or fan turned on. I finally realized that even the remote upstairs in my bedroom would control the fan downstairs in the great room. I have a 3100 sq ft home and I dont want to have to turn the fans of at the wall sometimes. I want to know if we can reprogram the remotes to this doesn't happen.

Thank you for your question. The remote and receiver have dip switches (located in the battery compartment of the remote and on the receiver itself). To avoid remotes controlling more than one fan, as sounds like your case, you need to set the dip switches in the remote and receiver to different settings. This will ensure that one remote controls one fan. It sounds like your fans were installed without changing the dip switches in any of the remotes & receivers. Since they operate on the same frequency, this can lead to one remote controlling other fans. The dip switches can be set to any combination of up and down, as long as the remote and receiver settings match. If you need further assistance, please call customer service at 1-855-HD-HAMPTON (1-855-434-2678) and one of our team members will be able to walk you through the process. Read Less

Why is it so noisy?

I hired a professional to install it and after a few weeks it became very loud when the fan is set to medium or high. It is like this with light on or off so not related to the light. I have it flush mounted to an 8 foot ceiling and no modifications of any kind have been made. Any help appreciated. Thanks!

Answer:
I just called the number you suggested and let the guy listen to the fan over the phone. He thinks its a bad capacitor and if I can come up with the serial number he would ship out the part. How does that help me? Then I would have to hire and pay someone to install the new part. The fan sucks, I am stuck, and that's all there is to it.

Rated 4.2 out of 5 by 125 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by very nice Asbury Fan The fan installed easily and is very flush with the ceiling. It is quiet and operates perfectly with the remote. It looks great in our great room. August 23, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by This fan makes a huge difference in our bonus room! We bought this fan for an upstairs bonus room which gets a lot of midday and afternoon sun, and as such gets a little warm. My daughters and my wife work out in this room, so extra heat has been a real killer for them. I looked around locally and could not find what I wanted - which was a 60" fan for this very large room (16x20) with at least three medium base bulb sockets in the light - but found this on homedepot.com. It arrived quickly (3 or 4 days, if I recall) and was easy to install. I was a little put off by the remote control, but since there are no pull chains on this fan, we had to use it. I'm still wondering when we'll lose that little remote and have to figure out something, but so far, it's not lost. Other than that, the fan is great. It installed easily in about 40min, taking my time. It moves a ton of air, and drops the felt temperature in the room by 10 or 15 deg. We've had to turn it from high to medium on the fan to keep from getting too cool in the room, and this is in the heat of the summer in Alabama. I'd recommend this fan for a large room where a lot of air needs to be moved. August 16, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Noisy! Extremely noisy on medium or high speed, even though it doesn't move the air that well. My old ceiling fans are quieter and stronger. Perhaps mine is defective? I paid someone to install it so not worth paying again to exchange it. August 10, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice fan giant remote Fan is great. Went up easy and works well. Remote is huge and has no backlight. August 16, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love this ceiling fan So quite and really moves the air!! Beautiful look as well August 16, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by I love it Is good product to buy and is beautiful in my livingroom August 2, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Beautiful fan The fan looks great but the only flaw to the directions was that the remote directions was not in the main direction book but rather with the remote , so we had to take it down after we put it up to program it. Other than that it was not too bad to install July 27, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Awesome Installation was easy. Fan smooth and quiet. Remote works great! Very happy! July 19, 2016
