The switch is located on top of the motor housing. Just make sure you turn the fan off before trying to flip the switch.

I installed mine with 36" downrod I bought separately from my local Home Depot. It's not a perfect match but you can't tell after it's installed. Looks great.

Anyone have issues with light/fan coming on?

Since installation, fan has demonstrated a bad habit of coming on all by itself. I've come into the room to find either the light on or fan running and know it was off when I left the room. No kids and remote is always tucked away in the chair console with nothing touching it. Today, fan was on full force and I'd passed the room twice before and it wasn't on. Maybe I have ghosts.....

Answer:
Yes, just do not install the remote receiver. you will need to have three conductor wire to the wall switch, then use a fan/light control switch.

So, I bit the bullet and bought a generic remote and sensor and am waiting for it to be installed. I'm hoping it will work, and if it does, I'll order another for the next outage that fries the unit. It doesn't happen often, but we're not on a big grid, and our power sometimes fluctuates or goes out seemingly at random (Juneau, AK). The first thing he replaced was the wall switch, but that wasn't the problem. Read Less

Rated 4.3 out of 5 by 112 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Beautiful Fan I love the look of this fan and the airflow is awesome! I liked it so much, that I ended up buying another one. May 10, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by pretty and nice style, low noise. missing important instruction and could be better Fan is pretty and nice. However it does have some flaws: you can see the light bulbs through the glass shade, it's not dimmable and instructions were poorly written in areas. Specifically you have to take the White plastic ring it came attached to the bottom of the motor down in order to attach the fan blades, this is written on a sticker on the White plastic but not in the instruction manual itself. Fan is quiet has very little wobble but we do wish that the light was dim a bomb it's very bright to look directly at and it uses two gu24 post bulbs and it did not come with a battery. Both the lights and the batteries are unique and you're unlikely to have them laying around the house. The style is great and it has low noise March 20, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Bercello Estates 52 in. Volterra Bronze ceiling fan First, I'm disappointed on the color of the blades. On Home Depot website the picture shows it's a light wood color which would be a perfect match for our bedroom set which is oak. When we took out the blades both sides of the blades were dark color wood. At that time my husband was putting the ceiling fan up and he was working on it for hours. So I guess I will have to live with it. Then to test it out you have to use the control to turn it on and off and guess what.. it didn't come with a battery. So all the hours of putting it up and then finding that there isn't a battery to test to see if it works. So after we place the battery in, Now the fan is making a noise. My husband wasn't happy. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by the fans came in good condition The fans were easy to assemble and they look very nice in my family room and kitchen. February 23, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Beautiful fan It took two people to install this fan. However, it was well worth it. The fan is beautiful and we love the remote control. June 9, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by I just love these ceiling fans !! I just love these ceiling fans. The plan was to buy two, but the price was so good that I bought a third one for my breakfast area. Installation was a breeze. (Please excuse the pun). They look rich and elegant with the dark wood and glass globe. I can't believe how quiet they are while being so efficient. Finally I have beautiful ceiling fans without ugly strings hanging down.....love the remotes. April 29, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by the looks of this fan turns an average room into a great room I needed this fan to cordinate with the Bercello Estates Ceiling lights we also purchaced at Home Depot. This Ceiling Fan is like no other I have ever owned, It is the first thing people notice when they enter the room,(talk about eye candy) It is solid and well made. The fan speeds and the blade angles are a perfect combination to deliver a wisper quiet movement of the air in the room up to a high wind that will move the loose papers on the table with out a sound. Easy to use remote even in the dark. October 2, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Beautiful fan I absolutely love this fan. It's beautiful. I want to warn people though that it was NOT intended for a sloped ceiling. We did not know that. Husband had to ground the opening till he got it enough that the fan hung straight. Thought that was a bit lame but still glad I got it. It matches the light we put in the dining area as well which is a bonus. September 5, 2013
