Installation was not too bad; though the lip around the edge of the mount is very short which means it may not fit properly to your outlet box (I have a round outlet box but the mounting hardware from my previous sensor light did not work with this sensor light so installation became a bit more complicated - though not too difficult. It is working ok; the sensor is very good (perhaps too much so - it picks up movement from vehicles passing by and turns on too frequently even at the lowest sensitivity settings)
The product is not as well made as a brass fixture; the material seems a bit flimsy in places. BUT there are very few alternatives and this is a pretty decent looking unit

I purchased 4 of these lights for the front of my house. I loved the idea of having the lights automatically turn on anytime something triggered it since pretty dark on our end of the street. The lights worked great for a year but then I had one die. I checked the switch, lightbulb, and the wiring and found that the fixture itself was the problem. I wasn’t getting it to make the “click” sound it makes when the motion sensor tells the light to turn on. I went on the Home Depot website to see if the light was still available. This is when I read reviews about people having similar issues as the one I was having. Against my better judgement (and the poor reviews) I went ahead and purchased another to replace the one that had just died since I already had 3 of these exact same light already hanging on the front of my house and I wanted them all to match. 2 months later, I had another one of the original 4 die on me. I went ahead and again checked the switch, lightbulb, and the wiring and wouldn’t you know it, no “clicking” noise again. Needless to say I am now shopping for 4 replacement light fixtures as I don’t want to purchase and swap out light fixtures yearly. I’ll never purchase another Hampton Bay product again. Save yourself the time, money and aggravation. Don’t buy this light

I needed to replace my outdoor wall lamp. I live in a condo so I needed something that was similar to the old one. This lamp was almost identical to the old one. I wanted a motion lamp and this one fit the bill. It senses motion and turns on at night. It also has a dusk to dawn sensor that keeps the lamp off during the hours of daylight.
I am very happy with this purchase. The price was right and it is very attractive on my wall. It also accepts a 100 watt bulb so it brightens the area more than a 60 watt. I will recommend this fixture to my neighbors as they need to replace their fixtures.

This motion light was a cinch to wire up and install. Took about 30 minutes in total. It worked pretty well too, for a couple months and the motion detector was very sensitive. Last night, I noticed that it wasn't detecting any of the cars driving by in the neighbor. After verifying that the switch was turned on, I set the switch from 2 minutes to test. The light didn't turn on and I thought maybe it was a dead bulb. After replacing the bulb, it still didn't turn on. I've owned this light for less than 2 months, so needless to say, I'll be taking this back and getting a light with better reviews.

Very easy to install and great looking light fixture. But I'm very disappointed with its performance. I have experienced the same sensor and timer 'on-off' problems as some others. I chose this light because of the decent price and the 2 & 6 minute timer feature. However, the 2 & 6 min. feature has never worked. Once the sensor activates the light, it stays on and remains on until I turn off the power source. The dusk to dawn timer feature seems to work-it seems to come on at dusk and turn off at dawn--so far. Once again, I'm disappointed with this Hampton Bay product.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Armalite Yup, it's a "Hampton Bay"
I'll start with the pros
2) 2 different design options within each fixture
3) Many light triggering options
1) The light socket sits high in the light because of the motion sensor is right below it. This means you cant install a full size cfl.
2) Very poor quality control. Took a few tweaks to make them straight and plumb.
I purchased these because I was leaving for a week and I didn't want to leave the outside lights on or off the entire time. Unfortunately I didn't have the time to shop.
Long story short I have installed many Hampton Bay items in the past. Lets just say I don't like to use Hampton Bay but when I do, I always keep the receipts and boxes.

Very good looking. I like the candle effect. Very sharp looking. So far doesn't attract rain frogs! Yeah!
