Probably not, but I was able to switch out the bottom fixture and replaced it with a hanging pendant.

I put a 24" down rod on and it works great. I've done others with 4'-5' down rods. They will work if balanced.

Answer:
Hi kc,
Yes, this fan will accept a longer down rod. Just match the finish and the diameter of the rod.
At the ends of the down rod are pins that will fit into most down rods with holes drilled across the opening at the ends. The pin is what secures the fan, so most down rods are compatible.
Thanks for asking.

Answer:
Well, considering there is no such thing as a 'standard' ceiling fan, it depends on the ceiling height for this fan to work.
This can work for 9 foot ceilings, but you must excise caution for lower ceilings.

Where is the reverse switch housing located?

The owner's manual says the reverse switch is located on the switch housing. It is not pictured in the manual and I am unable to locate it. The fan is 15' off the floor, I am on a ladder and cannot locate it by sight, feel or by using a mirror.

Brookedale II 60 in. Brushed Nickel Ceiling Fan is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 133.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Good idea bad quality Installing the fan wasn't bad, just take your time, its a big fan that can take a large down rode. It has been 2.5 years since install and we are having issues with the lower/downward pointed light fixture. It will work some times and other times wont come on at all. You hit the button and it blinks and stays off. We have also noticed that it has started a consistent clicking noise while spinning, like something in the fan housing is hitting lightly. For the price I would expect a better engineered product.

It took my husband almost 3 hours to install because nothing was pre-assembled. The light it emits is not very bright but that is not an issue for us because we also have a lamp in the living room. Love the remote control and the fan is very effective. We also purchased the 36" rod since our ceiling is very high. Highly recommend this product, we've had this since Black Friday and no issues.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful looking and effective at cooling a room These are functional and beautiful looking! They really transform the feel of a room, look and temperature wise. Simple enough to put together and easy to operate with the provided remote. Would highly recommended this fan for large rooms. It has great air flow. The only con is the lighting is not enough for large rooms, especially with vaulted ceilings. We fortunately have can lighting that assist in lighting the room appropriately.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this fan! I needed 2 fans for my living and dining room. They are elegant (my style) and sleek. They were assembled by the contractors with ease, They were balanced and threw a lot of air. I love the two lights and the fact that they are clear/white globes instead of the tan.
