Answer:
Yes it can be mounted to the wall and with ease I might add. I am not the greatest with the drill and I did it all by myself. The heat comes out of the bottom of the unit but blow forward. works great.

Answer:
I wouldn't recess it into the wall. The heat comes out of the bottom of the unit, and there's only about 1 inch of housing from the back of the unit to the heat vent...not worth the trouble or risk with proper heat dispersion.

Answer:
The heat comes out the sides and top I believe so that inserting it into the wall would ultimately "fry" the unit for lack of circulation.

Answer:
The heat comes out the bottom of the unit and the control panel is located on the side. The mounting bracket also requires that you have access to the top of the unit. I'm sure that you could fashion a creative way to mount this in-wall, but it would be very custom and very difficult to do.

So, IMO...your question cannot accurately be answered in dollars and cents. If you're running it without heat because of the LED lighting is costs peanuts to operate. Again, all of the factors above will determine your individual electricity costs. Basically, it's a 1500 watt heater. If you used one of those pedestal or floor model space type heaters before, you costs will be very similar. Read Less

Because it's in our game room, we don't use it regularly. I anticipate that it will cost much like a space heater would.

Assuming a KW/h rate of 11 cents, this would cost you about 15 cents per hour to run. Running this 24/7 would increase your bill about $100 per month if run at full power. There are different power settings that use less power, but it seems to top out around $.15 per hour.

Answer:
The heat vent is at the bottom of the unit and the unit is 17' from top to bottom and adding one foot = 29"...probably would be okay but I would add more if possible. If you plan on using the heater while watching T.V. keep in mind the sound of the heater blower, although not annoying loud, it may still detract from the quality of the T.V. audio unless you have a real nice surround sound set-up !

The heat discharge is located at the bottom of the frame. If the TV is flush with wall mount, and there is no overhang, it should not be affected.

At first, it was just the heating element that went out--until a month later when it wouldn't even power on. I called Home Depot and was given the number to the GHP Group. The guy on the phone told me it could be the circuitboard, and replacing it may or may not restore the heat, but it would probably restore the lighting effect. I took a chance and bought it for $31.95 (inclusive of shipping). The part arrived with no instructions whatsoever, nor are there any in the manual for the fireplace. Apparently this piece goes in the firebox, which, when purchased, was fully intact, hence the lack of assembly or disassembly instructions in the manual. This is such a disappointing end to a product that enjoyed very much, however briefly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very nice electric fireplace This requires some assembly but was very easy to put together by myself. It comes with both stand and wall mount options as well as log or white rock/clear glass fire options. I chose the log option but can change it at any time. There are multiple settings for the look of the fire, 3 LED light options as shown in the photos. There is also a back light that lights up the wall surrounding the fireplace with a variety of color options. The color options can also be set to rotate through all color options rather than staying on one color. The built in heater can be turned on/off as needed or set with the built in temperature control. All options can be reached with the included remote control. This is very nice and a great value, I highly recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Ambiance! Not sure if I wanted to wall mount this electric fireplace or not, I decided to set it up with the table base first. I may just leave it this way in case I want to move it between rooms. It was simple to set up. I chose to use the logs, but there are rocks and crystals that come with the fireplace. So as long as I don't lose track of these parts, it's something I can change easily enough in the future. The buttons on the side of the fireplace are easy to use, but I love that it comes with a small remote allowing me to reset the glow color in the logs or that emanate from the back sides onto the wall. Plus there is a heater with fan. I really haven't used the heater as I was looking for ambiance, not a heat source. The fan noise can be a little distracting if it's ambiance you're going for. It's definitely more dramatic in a darkened room. In daylight and while not on, it may look like a misplaced TV. But I think with appropriate decor surrounding this fireplace, I can alleviate that perception.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Almost lifelike Super excited about this product. Was browsing around on the website and saw the floor model fireplaces, but thought, where am I to put it? There was no room. So when I saw the stand/floor model, I thought, this is perfect!!! It was super easy to install as wall mount. Has a few awesome options. Different light colors for the back, behind the screen, as well as the actual fire place screen. We choose the clear rock and cut glass design over the logs as the decor for the inside of it as it appears much brighter and looks like real hot rock!! Beautiful!!! When it gets cold, we intend on using the heat option, too. There is a timer, just in case you think you'll fall asleep and may not want it to stay on all night. It is very life like, however I think it would have been an extra treat if it actually made the crackling sounds that a fireplace makes, but is still very pleasant to look at.... for the longest time. LOL. We actually turn it on first thing in the morning and then turn it back on when we get home. It does not get turned off until it's time for bed. It was very easy to complete the entire installation. Love the remote control. The pictured buttons are easy to figure out and control. Over all, great product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product for what I needed! I wanted something nice and stylish to go on the the wall between our two windows in our family room. The wife gets chilly easily, so I started looking into wall mounted fireplace heaters. Stumbled upon this model at Home Depot website and decided to go and check it out in the store. After an in store inspection i took a chance and purchased it. Assembly is a breeze, bracket was just as easy to attach to the wall. I loved the many different color settings for the faux flame and side LED lights. You can also choose what you want in the bed of the fire (3 different types of stone or wood). For the price and versatility of this product, I am happy to say that i am extremely pleased with my purchase. I WILL be getting another for our master bedroom. I enthusaistically recommend this product.! PROS: Price, Versatility, Quality, Looks. CONS: Remote control range, In order to hide power cord i had to install an outlet behind the unit, but that would have to be done with any wall mounted unit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simply Awesome!!! Coming from the east coast, where fall and winter memories conjure the image and smells of a fireplace, I was really missing that on the west coast. I knew that I really wanted to get the ambiance of that or approximate it as closely as possible this year. I saw some electric fireplaces on a TV shopping channel but they were all similar to wood burning stoves which isn't really my style and here in my apartment, I could not stand the thought on my next move of hoisting a huge mantled fake fireplace into a truck to transport it to my next place (let alone the room required for something like that). Then I came across this beauty! Great reviews, very cool contemporary look and a reasonable price too! I checked online to see what HD near me had them and luckily I had a few local stores to choose from. After seeing the helpful videos and photos from other purchasers, I knew that I had to get one... today. Went to the store and after locating them, was out of there in 5 minutes. A couple minor issues I encountered on assembly however. 1) The legs for the stand (which I am using so I can move it later if desired) had 2 of the same instead of one left and one right. I called and customer service was closed as it was after 6PM EST and was on the weekend as well. However, I thought I would try to put it together using 2 of the lefties. In the end, it really made absolutely no difference at all in the look or function but I will call them to see if they can send a right support to me just so I know I have all the parts I should. 2) I hate the little screws which seem to be self threading especially on the heat deflector plate. One of the screws would not drive correctly into the back where you are attaching the head deflector piece and I ended up stripping the head. It was cumbersome to try to put both those pieces together and I wish they would have just spot welded it to save me the trouble. But, again in the end I got one screw in fully and one is half way there and it is secure. 3) In order to insert the battery into the remote, you need an eyeglass screwdriver to remove a very very tiny screw to open the battery compartment. I went and bought one as I needed one anyways but that was a little irritating. Other than those three things, I am TOTALLY satisfied and with it using LEDs, it will cost me basically nothing to run every evening for years to come. The remote is handy and so convenient too. I am looking right now for that crackling fire MP3 to complete the feel and I'll be good to go this year! Thanks to all the great reviews and photos from the other customers, it made ALL the difference in me getting this fireplace. In addition, Home Depot is great with returns as well if anything goes wrong with it. It also has a thermostat for those people that are looking for info on that as well as the ability to lock out the heater in case you have a dog that likes to play with remotes. I would love to see them make one with a larger size option as well like maybe a 48" or something like that too. This is however really one of the best purchases I have made in quite some time.
