Looks simple enough but, as with other reviewers, I found the threaded bolts for screwing on the little ball nuts are too long so the fascia is loose. Had to cut down the bolts. The bolts are Phillips head with the heads on the backside of the plate with a nut and lock washer on the front. Make sure that they are as tight as possible (mine were loose) otherwise you'll be taking everything apart again when you find you can't tighten the ball nuts.
The wall plate is designed assuming you have an outlet box installed. It has hole patterns in the middle that would presumably match up with the box (2 screws are provided to attach it). Unfortunately, my older house just had wires coming out of a hole in the drywall. The wall plate has two holes towards each end of the wall plate and two wall anchors and screws are provided but it really needs to be anchored in the middle also, whether to the outlet box or by using more anchors and screws (as in my case), otherwise the weight will flex the wall plate.
Looks very nice once it's up.
I'll be saving some money on electric as the old frosted fixture I had took 6 bulbs and this gives more light with just 3.

Rated 2 out of 5Â by Jon411 NOT TOO HAPPY with Hampton Bay
We bought and returned this product twice for our Jack and Jill vanities- 4 light bars total. Each bath bar we bought had a different flaw in design or parts issue that prevented the installation. For example, mounting screws too long, a mounting screw finishing decorative nut missing, mounting wall plate flange irregular size creating an unusual gap between the cover and mounting wall plate. The ease of installation is poor because we were unable to finish a complete mounting due to missing parts and design flaws.
I thought Hampton Bay represented quality, I guess not. We are sorry to say, we will not buy Hampton Bay products in the future.

BOLT ISSUE STILL IN EFFECT FEB '14. I rolled the dice and hoped that HB/HD would have addressed the issue by now.. and perhaps they have and I just cleared out their old inventory or something. The bolts are slightly too long to have a flush, solid install. Install would have been easy except for this.
If you can live with trimming a couple of bolts, or adding a washer to each, or some other rigged-up solution, this product is a good deal.
The metal on the fascia is super-thin and bendy but looks good, the frosted glass shades look great, and for $39 there really is nothing that even comes close in bang-for-buck.
Despite the three stars, I recommended this product with the caveat that you will have to address the bolt issue or have a droopy fascia. And no one wants that.
