Product Overview

Hampton Bay LED low profile ceiling light fixtures are designed to enhance any decor and with a clean, fresh appearance and save money. This modern LED ceiling light fixture easily mounts flush with the ceiling, and the low profile design keeps it out of the way of closet doors. The protective brushed nickel finish will look great for years to come, and the white lens diffuses the LED light evenly. You won't see any dark spots or shadows. This flush mount uses a LED powered lighting engine instead of light bulbs to produce higher quality light for a fraction of the electricity, saving you money off your utility bill. This light fixture produces 1,003 lumens (about the equivalent of a 100-Watt light bulb) using only 21-Watt. The LED lighting source is made to last for 45 years at 3 hours per day; there are no bulbs to replace -ever! This ceiling fixture is easy to install, Energy Star listed and environmentally friendly. It comes with a 3 year limited manufacturer's warranty.

DOES THE LIGHT FROM THIS APPEAR WHITE OR YELLOW?

DOES THE LIGHT FROM THIS APPEAR WHITE OR YELLOW?
Asked by: Chris
It appears most of the responses are confusing the amount or brightness of the light with the color. The amount of light produced by this fixture is equivalent to a 100W incandescent bulb. So fairly bright. The color is yellow. (Technical explanation is coming, so bail out now if don't want to be too bored.) The color of light is measured by temperature on the Kelvin scale. Most light bulbs you will find in retail stores will be between 2700K & 6500K with 2700K being yellow & 6500K being blue. If you are looking for a whiter light, you want to stay around 4000-4500K. (This fixture says it is 2700K.) If you click the "specifications" link on this page it will pull up a color temperature chart that shows the relationship between the various temperatures and the corresponding light color. Or you can Google "color temperature chart" and find multiple others.

Do you have to buy the LED separately ? I just purchased this light , during installation there was no LED light

Asked by: NikkiG
The bulbs or diodes are a part of the fixture. They are included and cannot be replaced. When they stop working, you have to replace the entire fixture. Any fixture that says "integrated LED" will not have separate bulbs.

Asked by: rod
There is another version of this light (looks identical), but larger - around 16" in diameter that has the bright white light you are looking for. Home Depot SKU#1000021219

the light went out now how do I get it to work again it has no bulb to change? Do I have to replace the entire light or do I get buy a replacement led?
Asked by: confuse
You have to replace the entire fixture. That's what "integrated LED" means. The bulb(s) are incorporated into the fixture and when they go, it goes. I think it's wonderful how up-front & forthright all of these manufacturers/retailers are being in making sure that anyone looking at purchasing these types of fixtures knows what they are buying. (Read with heavy sarcasm and a condescending tone!)

Highly recommended for 2 reasons: 1) 2700K color temperature - equivalent warm glow to "soft light" incandescent light bulbs 2) It works with traditional dimmers - no noticeable delay turning on, dims in full range (down to about 10%) Competitor LED flush mounts I tried were a brighter (whiter) 3000K color temperature which takes some getting used to. Even worse, the competitor fixture did not work well with existing Lutron dimmer (despite claims otherwise) with delay up to 5 seconds to turn on and limited dimming range. The only challenge with this fixture is build quality - once you get it installed, it looks beautiful and it's on the ceiling. But the glass doesn't have a ridge to hold the mounting ring, and getting all 3 mounting bolts screwed down is an exercise in frustration until you finally find the right balance. But the color temperature and LED compatibility more than outweigh build quality challenges to give this 5-star rating.

When I called the handyman and he wanted $159 to install 2, I decided it was time to learn. Googled how to, very easy. Handyman said it would be 30 minutes for each light. Inexperienced me took 20 min each. Installed one in each closet. WOW -- very bright. Now I can see what I'm doing. Very modern look, took a little time to line up the outside ring, but doable. If you have an existing fixture, leave the existing screws in and just retighten instead of installing the new ones.

I was very speculative that the little built in LEDs were going to supply ample light for the hallway. I had a 100W halogen fixture before and didn't think this would match up but to my surprise, this fixture exceeded my expectations. The light a bit brighter when on full and this fixture worked well with my existing dimmer switch.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pleasantly surprised Bought this for a client, not noticing that it was a LED fixture, just liked the design. Went to install and wondered "Where do I screw in the bulb?" Saw the circle of very tiny "lights" and wondered how effective they would be. Pleasantly surprised how bright it was. Very happy with this purchase.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from You could tan with this light Bought this to replace a worn out ceiling fan/light with 2 60 watt incandescent bulbs. This light is at least 3 times brighter! Installation took less than 10 minutes with one screwdriver. Only 4 stars since I don't know yet how long it will last. Great deal so far!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Poor quality control Bought two of these for a hallway. Ended up having to go back to exchange one as it had dents in the trim ring that would have been completely visible once installed. Got the replacement home and wired up only to discover that one of the nuts that holds the trim ring in place is not threaded! Now I have to go back to Home Depot yet again. Definitely not impressed with the quality. As well, the box says the light produced is warm when in fact it is a very harsh, cold light. Very misleading advertising.

Light is one of those with permanent little led light bulbs in a circle in the fixure, no light bulbs to change ever. I suppose the down side is that when it burns out, the whole fixure must be replaced but with an estimated lifespan of 20 plus years, who cares. Also, most ceiling lights are a true pain to install, but this one was so easy, it seemed to almost install itself.
