How can I just turn on the light without the fan?

When I press the button for the light it just flickers and goes off again. It only seems to work properly when the fan is running, but I will want to use the light by itself.

Answer:
Actually, I discovered after calling that the problem was my main light switch was a dimmer switch, which was interfering with the remote. A regular on/off switch fixed the problem and now the remote works great.

Can this be fan be wired so that one wall switch turns on/off the lighting functionality, and another turns on/off the fan functionality?

Understanding and ignoring the remote light dimming and remote fan speed functionality on this unit and understanding that there are no pull chains, I am having to replace an unnamed mfg.'s fan which died after 8 years. Currently this fan is wired to two independent on/off wall switches: one enabling light, one enabling fan. Is this fan compatible for this configuration?

Answer:
Probably not without you doing some creative wiring. The easy thing to do is put a wire nut on one of the hot wires and secure it wit electrical tape. Then wire the fan to the other switch and use the remote to do everything.

Thank you for your question. You can wire the fan and lights independently, by bypassing the remote for the light control with the switch, but you will lose the light function an the remote. For the speed control you would need to wire the receiver and then wire the fan power wire to the other switch.

Why doesn't my fan change speeds when controlled with the remote?

The fan doesn't change speeds when controlled with the remote and actually stays at low speed at all times.
Where shall we look for a problem? or is this a sign of a defective product? We use 3 different fan models and this is the only one that gives us trouble.
Many thanks!

Answer:
You might check the frequency settings on the remote and receiver. the dipsticks should all match. It sounds like one of them is not matching up. The manual has instructions for how to do this.

I bought the ceiling fan for my dad's house and the remote has never given him an issue. Not sure why your having issues with your remote. You may want to write the manufacturer and see if they will issue you a new remote.

Campbell 52 in. Brushed Nickel Ceiling Fan is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 167.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great fan, easy install I have to assume that everyone who says this was a difficult install have not installed a ceiling fan before. I've installed many and this was by far the easiest. They keep getting easier as the years go by. It took me longer to uninstall the 20 year old fan I was replacing. I'm not sure why people are having problems fitting the receiver in the housing. It fits perfectly. If anything it was the wires that made things a little tight but you just have to make sure they're draped off to the side and not in the center where there's no extra space. Everything else was a snap to install. I love that you no longer have to screw in a million screws for the blades/brackets, and I love the clean look of no set screws on the glass and no chain pulls. I love the dimmable lights. I'm getting another for my bedroom.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy install and great product Heard others complain about installing the remote device, but I had no problem as long as I used the included bracket. Fan was installed with no problems and meets every expectation. The fan puts out more air than our previous fan. The only issue I have is that the light bulb base is the small candelabra size. This was not mentioned in the product description. I would have preferred the medium base.

I wasn't sure how I'd feel about the brushed nickel at fist, but once it was installed, it looks really good. The remote is super convenient and the light really brightens the room. The dimmer is nice for when we're winding down and don't want the lights completely off. I can't speak to installation, as I did not install it. But it looks great and works well. Would definitely recommend.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from adequate The installation is ok until you get to the remote part that goes inside the fan motor. I also purchased a Kensgrove fan with remote control and did not have any problems with trying to stuff the remore conrol apparatus inside the housing. Very pretty fan and good airflow just not easy to install. Not for the faint hearted installers. Must have patience.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Plug and play is cool Installed fans in the past. Always frustrated me when I tried to make sure I made the correct connection. This was A lot easier than I thought it would be. And I couldn't be happier to have one with remote control. Although hind sight (and it may be in the directions) I would have put the antenna sticking out a little to get more consistent signal.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice fan The fans are very quiet. Chose these as they had a lighter wood tone blade choice. Not as light as pictured on the website. Oh well. I was disappointed to find that "frosted" meant "bright white" when describing the light globes. I do love the brushed nickel, does well in both contemporary and country decor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product at a Great Price and does what it is suppose to do After reading other reviews of this product, I chose this one to replace my old ceiling fan. The reviews were right on the money. It was easy to install but be sure you follow the instructions. It was quite and the remote worked perfectly. I would recommend this product to everyone.

No problem with remote. The only quibble is if you want to buy different bulbs, you need to get the tiny based bulbs - standard bulbs won't fit. Funny, because I bought other Hampton Bay fans with standard base bulbs.
