Just for turning on or off. It takes a soft white bulb (3) so it is not a glaring light.

Answer:
Yes you can. You just hold the light button down and the light will get dimmer then go out and then turn on and get brighter. When you get the amount of light you want just let go of the button and the light will stay at that setting until you change it. This is a good ceiling fan, quiet and I had no vibration issues!

Answer:
JhmMke,
Check under the battery cover on the remote control and see if there is a dipswitch marked "ON/DIM", if there is, slide the switch to the "DIM" setting, this will enable the dim function on the receiver. You must be using incandescent bulbs for the feature to work, if you are using CFL bulbs, they will blink, flicker, or not work at all.

Rated 4.2 out of 5 by 40 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Just what I wanted The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because, after only 3 weeks one bulb blew out already. September 6, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by adequate The installation is ok until you get to the remote part that goes inside the fan motor. I also purchased a Kensgrove fan with remote control and did not have any problems with trying to stuff the remore conrol apparatus inside the housing. Very pretty fan and good airflow just not easy to install. Not for the faint hearted installers. Must have patience. August 23, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Campbell 52 in with remote This is the third one of these fans I have purchased. Easy to install, includes remote. This fan is quiet and moves air better than the builders grade fans installed by builder. Very reasonable price and includes remote control. We are very happy with this product. September 6, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect fan! Unbelievable price on a Hampton Bay, which in my opinion, is the best fan out there. And the remote control was included! Install was a breeze and fan works perfectly, no wobble, and quiet. August 7, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great fan at a great price Was a bit unsure about putting these fans in a house we were getting ready to sell. Did it anyway and it made a huge difference. Fan with light in an older house that had no ceiling lights so this helped a lot. August 10, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice fan The fans are very quiet. Chose these as they had a lighter wood tone blade choice. Not as light as pictured on the website. Oh well. I was disappointed to find that "frosted" meant "bright white" when describing the light globes. I do love the brushed nickel, does well in both contemporary and country decor. July 26, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by very nice fan at a reasonable price This fan looks very nice and works very well. I would definitely recommend it. June 28, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great fan Beautiful fan. Very quiet. Great price. Couldnt be happier so I bought another! July 19, 2016
