Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Blueyce28 Good fan for the price - performance is a hit or miss
We just bought two and installed both just earlier this evening on our back patio. Fan and light was easy to install.
First fan installed and it was not moving air as much as we expected it to on max speed for a 7000 CFM rating. Immediately we said the negative reviews were correct. Guess we couldn't expect much for the price so we decided to keep it. Light was brighter than our patio light so that was a plus.
Installed the second fan, again both are on the back patio and on the same circuit, tested on max speed and it moved so much air it was blowing our plastic cups, paper plates, and plastic forks off the table out the patio. We thought this was weird as the first one installed did not move as much air. We checked and double checked to make sure wires were good and that it was on max and we realized the first fan was not spinning as fast as the second fan.
Also note that while we were checking the fans, the first fan motor was really warm whereas the second was not. We will be exchanging the first fan as it seems the motor is defective since the second one worked really well, it was easy to install, and the price was affordable.
We concluded that for those negative reviews where you feel like your fan is not moving air, you may have a bad motor.
We are giving it a good 4 star since each of these fans you buy could be a hit or a miss due to motor quality not being consistent with each unit you buy. We would still recommend this fan for any DYIer.
We also put in an on-wall adjustable fan speed controller with 4 speed settings(we know the fan only has 3 speed setting). Max is correct, but any lower setting will be slower than the slowest speed setting on the fan with the pull string itself. We do not recommend this product with an adjustable speed controller.
Hope this review helps.

Like some others we bought 2 of these fans for the patio. They hardly blow any air at all compared to a variety of fans in rest of house. Even small 42" fan blows this away. We have them on 18" downrod to and you barely feel any movement. With the hot summer you really feel it. Or lack thereof. After paying somebody to install them now probably need to buy another fan and pay to have these uninstalled and new ones reinstalled. It seems like from other reviews there are certainly some quality control issues. I don't often put reviews but after living with these for a month I felt compelled to comment.

No more noise and vibration! No more chains hanging down that you have to get step stool to reach!

Easy to install and works well. Only downside is that I had to buy a larger down-rod and angled ceiling base to accommodate the vaulted ceiling in my great room. I understand that a long down rod would not be included, but it would be nice if the ceiling base could accommodate angled installations.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Brad Love the fan!!
Was a little skeptical of a 3 bladed fan thinking it was oils move enough air but after a month I'm very impressed. Not really technical to install but we have older wiring that doesn't match the instructions so it was a little trial and error. But very pleased with this product.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Admiral 2 Useless Patio Fans - So Disappointing !
What a disappointment!! I bought two of these great looking fans for the patio that we just completed in the back yard. We just installed them and both fans BARELY move any air on any speed. I asked the guy at Home Depot about what we can do and he said that "there have been a LOT of returns on this fan because of low air volume but it is very hit or miss!!" He asked if I remember that the box was opened or not....... They were both brand new in box and I paid almost double what they are asking for now online!! So frustrating. He recommended that I call Hampton Bay since they make these and request from them some kind of "repair kit" (he mentioned capacitor or diode or something like that....).
I cant even find a good Customer Service Number for Hampton Bay. Anyone know how I can contact them???
I just had an electrician "troubleshoot" the fans, wiring, and motors. He said that there is nothing he could really do besides install two new fans. I paid $60.00 for him to tell me that we need to install two new fans to replace the two brand new fans I bought late last year in anticipation of our patio being finished in the spring!!
I paid $129.00 for each fan at Home Depot in late 2015 (just installed them with the new patio we just finished) and I am totally not happy that I have to take these down and try to return them (probably outside the return window at Home Depot now). Unless someone knows about whatever the capacitor/diode "fix" is, it looks like Im probably screwed on this deal. Its said because the fans really look great and have a good light assembly and I really wish I would have read the reviews first!! Please help with any suggestions or the C.S. number to Hampton Bay....

Its a great fan in my lanai ......except its higest speed is like a medium compared to my experience with my other fans......hardly makes a breeze...no reviews indicated this..... Problem is you dont know this until after all the time spent installing....i should have taken it down and back but didnt......then 6 months later they are selling the same fan for half the price i paid for it at HD ! Dont waste your time and money. ...i plan to replacd it soon !
