Customer Questions & Answers

Does this fan allow the lights to work with a dimmer switch?

Can the fan be operated by a switch on the wall to dim the lights and control fan speed?
Asked by: Matt
Yes. Used the same dimmer recommended by another customer here. They definitely dim, but not as much as a traditional bulb (non LED) will.

How many lumens does this light have?

Asked by: Joleen
IDK how many, but it is very bright, like 100 watt bright. You will probably want to put a dimmer on it, just be sure the dimmer is rated for LED lights.

It was quiet when the blades were turning, and the light was bright enough for the entire medium sized bedroom. Then, the LED array because so dim that it was useless as a light source. I called Hampton Bay at 877-902-5588 who said it was covered by the 5 year warranty. (I had not mailed in a registration card, so they took me at my word.) A light kit from Home Depot is about $45, but Hampton Bay is shipping me a new light kit free of charge. I will still have the hassle of replacing it. I was initially attracted by the energy saving feature of the LED, but it is harder to change out than a simple lightbulb.

I'll start with the good: the fan is quite and looks good! The bad: The pull chain for the fan broke about two weeks after installation. The pull chain is difficult to pull due to awkward path the chain takes from the fan motor through the light fixture. I called the manufacturer and they needed a copy of the receipt, thankfully HD saves this. A replacement was sent out promptly, but I had to install the new switch. I have little confidence in the new switch as I have not used it much given the cold weather.

I installed 2 of these in my great room and I'm so pleased with their look and operation. The light is great. I installed one on a dimmer; the light doesn't get as dim as I would like, but I believe that is due to the LED feature that they really only "dim" on 3 different levels. They make no noise at all. The air flow is great, and find I run them on low when my old fans used to run on medium all the time. The dark oil rubbed bronze with the light walnut side of the blade is really handsome. Would definitely recommend.

I like the integrated LED lights, no need to hassle with light bulbs; but a little concerned of what will have to happen if an LED where to go out. Good looking fan, rather simplistic. It's good that it is so simple, however it almost seems not as durable because of that, only time will tell. For now, it is very nice looking fan, with nice features, and moves are as needed! Attached is a photo of the LED lights.

It is a nice looking fan and the led is what sold me BUT the pull chain switch to change speed and turn the fan off and on is a pain to pull. It's such a tight fit that it take a couple tryst to change speed. It's so bad that the Hampton Bay decorative pull has busted off. Light turns on easy. But the fan itself switch just does not work well at All!

The only suggestion i feel is that the string to pull operate the fan is bit hard and I fear may break. I think that is due to the way the string is drawn out from the fan to below the light. If there is a way to make it work easily, like the light string, it would be great. Overall very good value for money, looks great. Meets my expectations

I tried to call customer support, using the number in the fan manual, but it says 'sorry your carrier won't allow calls to this number'. Folks, they need to get an 800 number, and put a gasket between the glass and the metal finial. The directions also were missing a couple of steps, so a newbie would have had an issue.
