Customer Questions & Answers

My fountain froze several times during the winter. Now, the entire structure is compromised. Why?

My fountain is kept running 24/7 to allow the birds and critters in the neighborhood access to water. During the winter it froze solid several times. The pump was fine when thawed, so thought the entire structure was fine. (I've had several fountains over the years, and have never had one affected by the weather.) Now, I notice that the entire fountain is literally falling apart. Several sections have begun to "crumble" and the structure of the top waterfalls is compromised so that it looses water. I've had to "prop" the top of the fountain onto the bottom using rocks. (The bottom section has broken away which holds the structure together.) For something that is build for outdoor use, it should be made to withstand extreme temperatures. Now, I'm having to find another fountain to accommodate my needs. Why has this happened, and what can be done to fix the problem?
Asked by: Klutzy2508
Had our fountain for two years and it did the same thing. Basically deteriorated and cannot hold water in the base at all. I looked thru the instruction manual (I kept everything) and no fine print or any mention of bringing the fountain indoors for the winter. We drained the fountain and covered it each winter and figured that because it was made for outdoors, it would be fine outside for the winter...we were wrong. It's disintegrating and now we have to buy a new fountain.... :(

Can LED lighting be added?

Or is there a similar product with lights
Asked by: Buddy
Yes, if you decide to I'd recommend low voltage DC LEDs. The transformer can be plugged into the same duplex GFI that you have the fountain plugged into.

my fountain was fine for rwo weeks, but now it runs dry in a few hours. why?

Asked by: szinke
Dear Valued HomeDepot Customer, We reached out to the MFG for more information and below is their response. "There is a serious leak in the main basin of the fountain. It is suggested that the fountain is returned to the place of purchase for refund or exchange if still under warranty."

Cement Rock Fountain is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 50.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful fountain We just put this fountain in our court yard and it looks great. Very simple to put together & it's so realistic looking. We added a pond lite in the bottom, so at night we can enjoy the sound as well as the looks of the water running over the rocks. Anyone coming to our front door gets to enjoy this beautiful addition to our court yard. The price is fantastic for the quality that you get. Can't go wrong with this one!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great design and water flow, but fragile for shipping and moving. I love this fountain. Great size for the price. Nice water flow. Rock looks very realistic. Just BE CAREFUL when unloading or moving. The cement/fiberglass material can chip or crack easily. The first one I brought home was broken in the box from shipping. (Nothing like lugging 100+ pounds back to Home Depot.) I opened the box and checked the second one at the store before heading home. Other than that, very pleased.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 5-Star Rock Fountain! I purchased this Infinity rock fountain (although the one I purchased said "Hampton Bay" on the box) at Home Depot in La Quinta, California for only $129... I happily give the fountain a solid 5-stars for both quality and value... It was easy to set up and looks and works absolutely fantastic... The birds in my area (especially the Western Tanagers) absolutely love it too! I put a circle of landscaping blocks around the fountain and then filled the area in with pebble-stones... The entire project cost less than $200 and looks like a million bucks! I couldn't be happier.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the sound!! I have searched high and low for an indoor fountain that made the loud noise I wanted. However, I settled for this fountain which was labled on the box as "Outdoor Only". The man in the store said I could use it indoors. I purchased the fountain and two sales associates helped me get the 102 pound fountain to my car, but it wouldn't fit in the car in any way, so I took it out of the box. Since it comes in two large pieces, I was able to put the bottom half in the trunk and the rest in the back seat. The fountain was quickly set up in my apartment and within 10 minutes of getting it home, I was enjoying the Loud sound of the water cascading down into the basin. I LOVE it!!!! I wanted a peaceful, yet loud fountain for meditation and tranquility as well as keeping outside noise out at night. This fountain is absolutely perfect!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for Blocking Out Unpleasant Noise Excellent Value This is easy to set-up for 2 people but base is heavy one person needs to hold top while other person connects hose to pump, place on a flat level surface for water to flow over rocks. Splashes water, keep filled for continuing water flow. Clean debris with a small tank aquarium fish net and a soft bottle bush to clean along inside of edges. When cleaning will need another small pump and hose to flush out dirty water, then can still operate inside fountain hose pump behind cover. Using harsh chemicals will damage the pump and discolor use only algaecide to keep the algae down and retain the natural stone coloring. It’s a favorite with the local birds; crows, doves, finches, and humming birds they like to drink the cascading water while in flight. A submersible pond landscape light with colored lens cap (red, blue, yellow, orange, green, clear) can be placed in the water or surrounding the fountain enhances the sound of the water at night. But before you turn it over to the wild life you may want to create an outrageous beer, champagne or sparkling wine fountain will take 10 gallons. Highly recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Sound - Beautiful Look! We were looking for a natural outdoor water fountain for a specific space in our front yard. We didn't want any artificial looking colors like some fountains we saw were. This fountain at Home Depot is an earthy brown/black/grey/taupe. It is exactly what we were looking for. The water flow is not too loud and not too soft, just right. If natural is what you're looking for, you can't go wrong with this choice.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth every penny!Oasis for my Florida condo patio Can't believe how great it looks outside on patio. Packaged well in box. but easy remove and assemble 2 main rock/ledge pieces fit together. Surronded the fountain with potted palm trees and ferns. Wonderful light cascading water. Neighbor children delighted to put small floating toys at top and watch as they fall down to lower levels.Beautiful simulated rock. Love it.
