This fan was very difficult to put in, the screws did not work properly for the mount to the ceiling and my husband had to buy screws that would workt. This fan does not come with a short down rod, so we had to cut it for the room that we were putting it in. The installation (in a 1910 house) took much longer then expected and he said he would never to it again. However, once the fan was installed it was beautiful! Even though we had to shorten the down rod and could not use all of the decorative features, it is beautiful and one of the prettiest fans I have ever had. It is whisper quiet, the remote works well and now that is up and running, I love it!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Saint1 Excellent ceiling fan
I installed 5 of these fans recently and they are excellent.
The installation is relatively simple.
The ONLY problem I encountered are not really a big deal. It doesn't come with the 2 screws that mount the fan hardware to the ceiling electric box. If you're handy you probably have them lying around the house somewhere. Also, if you are replacing another fan or fixture you can use the ones from the old fixture. If it's new construction then you can use the ones the box comes with, unless the box is not flush with the ceiling, and then you will need ones that are longer than the ones that come with the electrical box. If the box is not flush, you will need spacers so that the fan hardware is lowered down somewhat because you need room for the remote control receiver. THIS IS NOT A BIG DEAL AT ALL and is definitely not a reason not to buy these gorgeous fans.
ONE VERY GOOD thing about the fan is that if you use an automatic timer and it shuts off the fan you don't need the remote to turn it on again. The fan will switch on to the setting it was on before it was turned off by the timer. For the same reason you can hook as many fans as you want onto the same switch.
The fans have 3 speeds and even on the highest speed they are very quiet. You hear nothing but a little wind. They don't shake at all, even on high.
The fans are very pretty with detailed work.
I didn't need the lights so installed all five fans without the lights, but the light fixture it comes with it pretty. The bulbs that it comes with are small so it's not really for the light but more for the look. It comes with 3 small bulbs with the small bases, each is 40 watt for a total of 120w.

Great looking fan. Doesn't look cheap. The paddles are very light and match the wood trim in my house. The fan itself is typical fan installation and I had no problems, although I've installed many fans over the years.

Bought 2 fans one for the living room; one for the bedroom. Had an electrician install them and it took longer than we both figured (old victorian-old wiring) but well worth it in the end. They really look great, and move the air nicely. So quiet I don't even notice them when they are on. Also, love the convenience of the remote control since the ceilings are 10'.

I really love this fan. It looks great in the room. It's very quiet and cools the room perfectly. As others have said the installation was pretty easy until trying to cover the wires. I only have one issue, the fan cuts on randomly, on its own. I thought maybe the remote was triggering this so I removed the batteries and it continues to do the same thing.
