Will the fan run from light-switch on wall (in addition to, or besides the remote control)?

The room in which I envision using this fan is pre-wired for a fan, including the light switch on the wall. Will I be able to control the fan using the light switch, or can you ONLY use the remote? (Or can both remote and wall switch run the fan?)

it will run in addition to the remote; the wall switch gives it power & the remote controls the speed. If you connect it to the wall switch, you cannot use the remote to power it on, only control the speed. Depending on your wiring & you have 2 switches, you can use one to turn on the light & the other to power on at what ever your previous speed setting was.

You can turn the fan/light on by using the wall switch but you must set the fan ( on,off, speed, etc.) by the remote control. Then you can turn it on and off with the switch. We had the remote mounted on the wall next to the switch so we can use it like a switch and not a remote because if you lose the remote you are in trouble.

Answer:
A simpler solution is to replace the 40 watt incandescent bulbs with dimmable LED bulbs with a candelabra base. I used the EcoSmart flame tip LED bulbs from Home Depot that are the "60 watt equivalent". Not cheap but significantly increased the light output, reduced total current draw compared to incandescent and should last a long time.

yes its a typical light kit installation. however, I would recommend using a hampton bay kit as they will connect much easier. Adding any other kit will change the look of this light. I would recommend using the brightest lightbulb allowed. Which unfortunately is not that bright.

Don't think so. The glass globe might be interchangeable w a clear type but that would be distracting from the intended "look" of this fan. It is really quite attractive and fits a classical interior look perfectly. The intricate designs are surprising considering the low cost of this fan

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Pretty fan This is a very pretty fan. I don't care much for most ceiling fans, especially light kits, but this one is attractive. It was a little small for my vaulted bedroom, but it works. Mounted on long down rod and still has no wobble, quiet, and remote works good. My only complaint is that I cannot reverse the direction with the remote - that feature proved difficult to find in an attractive fan. Also be aware that the glass on the light kit provides an amber glow - doesn't bother me, but might not be what you are looking for. As you can see in the picture, it is very different from the LED can lights. I like this in my bedroom, but probably would not want it in my living room. May 3, 2016

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best Purchase ever The fan is gorgeous, heavy duty, lovely lighting and very good at cooling off the kitchen. It is by far the most beautiful fan I could find and we are very pleased with it in every way. It does take a while to assemble, but it was worth it. The motor is heavier than our old fan and required a bigger box to mount it in. Love it. August 17, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Buy! This ceiling fan is a beautiful fan, and very good quality. The price is excellent, and is much lower in price that competitors who have the same fan in other brands. I would recommend this fan to anyone without any hesitation, and the remote works very well . . . when running, it hardly has a sound. August 16, 2016
