The light fixtures are very elegant and add an instant visual upgrade to my kitchen ceiling. The shades add a soft yellow hue to the kitchen without reducing the amount of light by too much. Received several compliments by friends and neighbors

We love the Chateau DeVille ling of lights and fans. We have installed a multitude of these Recessed Can Trim lights over the past few years. It is a very impressive light fixture for the money. A couple of pointers I have learned. It is a close fit when attaching the springs if you have large hand like me. I learned the springs have a loop for needle-nose pliers. This makes installation mush easier.

Trim is beautiful once installed I had an electrician install mine because they had to be converted to the recessed lights. All went well until it came time for the bulb. Took a few mins to get them in and I don't look forward to having to replace them.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by sc55 Baffle (can) is too deep to position light bulb correctly.
The assembly goes together easy enough, but the distance from the back of the baffle (where the socket attaches) is much greater than the length of the light bulb. Even with a socket extender, the light bulb is still about 1/2 to 3/4" too deep. Besides being able to see the metal baffle, it reduces much of the light as the face of the bulb is inside the entire fixture. It would have made much more sense to design the baffle so that the curve of the bulb's face ties in with the glass ring, or at least lines up that way with a standard extension socket.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Colonel Buy the "Caffe Patina" model instead.
I will just repeat what the majority are saying. The trim is indeed a bit darker than expected but the main problem is the installation. I have recently purchased and installed 23 Hampton Bay "Caffe Patina" recessed trims and installation once assembled takes approximately 45 seconds to install.
When these arrived, the housing is totally different. The installation is a pain in the neck to say the least. I even attempted to install one on a can light fixture that had not been installed in the ceiling yet which should have been easy. I returned them the same day UPS delivered them and will replace them with the "Caffe Patina" model. However, the return was easy and H.D. gave me no problem and credited my credit card.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by stella Well I sure do luv these. My son installed in mid Jul.
Then he received orders and left for NM. I am stuck with these lovely covers and as of today cannot install any lights in them. They look great on my ceiling, but so far, since it is getting dark, I cant see too well. I am not an electrician and have very little knowledge on the subj. Home depot had me buy some lights on line, but they are still too short to fit in the sockets. I am now told, by Home Depot, to lower the socket? Or install the lights first. Well so far that is greek to me. May have to hire someone to fix the problem. Or wait until my son comes back up to WA for a visit. Bummer. They sure are a far cry from the cheap white ones they cover.

Finished my home theatre room and spent close to 10K on all of the electronics & decor. I put 6 of these on the ceiling can lights because the white ones just didn't do the room justice. I'm serious when I say I have shown this room to 5 people, upon their request, and nothing impresses them more than the trim on the can lights...LOL...go figure!! They are awesome, PERIOD.
