I am doing a makeover of the master bedroom. I had installed a ceiling fan several years ago that was aged bronze with a remote control and dimmable lighting. I wanted to update the fan to match the new brushed silver I was using, plus (I'm short) I had to have a remote with the fan/light. I didn't want too much lighting either. This fan was so simple to install! It's very stylish and modern. The 3 long and 3 short fan blades make it unusual. The LED light doesn't shed much light in the room, but enough to find your socks on a dark morning. It took 1.5 hours to take down the old fan and install the new fan - quick. The other thing I would mention, it has the "reverse" on the remote. No need to climb on top of the bed to flip a switch to reverse the direction of the fan.

The only thing that I dislike about it is, the light only lights up the aera direcetly under the fan, Maybe a three foot circle on the table below it otherwise it works Great !!

We truly love our Hampton Bay Cohutta 52 inch Brushed Nickel fan. It is contemporary and sophisticated and makes a stunning statement in my newly renovated living room. The fan is the focal point of the room and hangs beautifully from the 12 foot ceiling by the added 24 inch extension rod. The 6 blades and dimmable spotlight are truly unique and add to the updated look that we wanted to achieve. The remote controls both the spotlight and fan speed and is simple and convenient to use. I was also pleased with the color of the blades that compliment the wood and other natural tones that are present in the room as well as the nickel that makes the fan really stylish and classy. On both high and low settings it has been silent and stable as well as providing excellent and efficient airflow. It was easy to install, even with the addition of the extension, taking about an hour. Everyone compliments this fan when they walk into my home and I have to say I am really satisfied with this purchase. I would have expected a fan of this quality to have been much more expensive.

It's a great looking fan - but it's not "brushed nickel" - the one I got is SHINY nickel - almost chrome, but not quite.
Pretty easy to install - the ball/socket unit is not quite as articulated as it could be, was a little concerned as I have slanted ceilings. But it works well and hangs straight despite the fact that it doesn't really move in the socket freely.
Fitting the remote unit in the fan is a tight fit (it's not a "native remote" fan - it's basically a fan with an included remote kit) but it goes in with a bit of fiddling.
For me the light is ideal. Not quite a spot, not quite a flood - it's directly over my sink and is just what I wanted from it.
I actually opted to wide the light outside of the included remote (which does have a dimmer function). I used a wall dimmer instead since I already had something there from the prior, remoteless fan unit.
The 3 blade design is stable and moves a nice amount of air.
It's fairly quiet - low speed moves enough air that I literally have not had it on high since I first tested it on install.
The description and the box state that there's 2 colors depending on which side of the blades you use - well, it must have "color #2 guy's" day off when mine was produced because there is no discernible color difference between sides that I can see. Not that I care, but just FYI.
IMO it's a tad pricey for the quality (this is, after all, HD's house brand) but on sale it was a good value.

Gorgeous modern design on this 3 speed fan with reverse function and a small light with dimmer feature. Looks amazing in my living room and is amazingly quiet. Have had it for 3 years and no problems whatsoever. Recently went on line to order another one and could not believe it is discontinued..... but there are still plenty of ugly Hampton Bay Fans for sale.

First of all, the fan is really good looking. It puts out the perfect amount of air. In Tucson it's important to keep the air moving in your house so the AC doesn't have to work so hard.
Easy to install. Here is the problem. Just last night I was unable to turn off the light or fan or even change the fan speed. I had to turn it off at the wall. I'm perturbed at this because it's on a 12 foot ceiling. Now I have to climb back up there (being uncomfortable with heights) to see if the receiver somehow the problem. I have owned Hampton Bay fans for over 20 years and never had a problem.

The install was very easy.... even with the remote receiver. Our ceiling was 8' and it's still high enough to not be a nuisance.
There isn't any wobble (right out of the box) and the remote is very handy.
The light bulb could be better in terms of availability. Also the light mainly shines straight down. However, it is dimmable so we use it mainly as a dim light, but as a main light source, fah-get-about-it.
The CFM is sufficient as we feel it about 10 feet away and the small blades add a stylish flair.
This fan was on sale and we couldn't be happier with the discount (with free shipping).
The remote is a very welcome bonus. It shuts off and dims the light, plus changes the fan speed... all with a push of a button - No manual controls, so I hope the remote last.

I thought it was easy to install. It is quiet. I feel this fan is made for a high ceiling location. The light is fine but if you have 7-1/2 ceilings and the fan light is your sole light source in a 12X12 room then it makes the room dark. It also hangs lower then I would have liked. This being said I think it is a quality product that works great for the price!
