I am doing a makeover of the master bedroom. I had installed a ceiling fan several years ago that was aged bronze with a remote control and dimmable lighting. I wanted to update the fan to match the new brushed silver I was using, plus (I'm short) I had to have a remote with the fan/light. I didn't want too much lighting either. This fan was so simple to install! It's very stylish and modern. The 3 long and 3 short fan blades make it unusual. The LED light doesn't shed much light in the room, but enough to find your socks on a dark morning. It took 1.5 hours to take down the old fan and install the new fan - quick. The other thing I would mention, it has the "reverse" on the remote. No need to climb on top of the bed to flip a switch to reverse the direction of the fan.

We truly love our Hampton Bay Cohutta 52 inch Brushed Nickel fan. It is contemporary and sophisticated and makes a stunning statement in my newly renovated living room. The fan is the focal point of the room and hangs beautifully from the 12 foot ceiling by the added 24 inch extension rod. The 6 blades and dimmable spotlight are truly unique and add to the updated look that we wanted to achieve. The remote controls both the spotlight and fan speed and is simple and convenient to use. I was also pleased with the color of the blades that compliment the wood and other natural tones that are present in the room as well as the nickel that makes the fan really stylish and classy. On both high and low settings it has been silent and stable as well as providing excellent and efficient airflow. It was easy to install, even with the addition of the extension, taking about an hour. Everyone compliments this fan when they walk into my home and I have to say I am really satisfied with this purchase. I would have expected a fan of this quality to have been much more expensive.

It's a great looking fan - but it's not "brushed nickel" - the one I got is SHINY nickel - almost chrome, but not quite.
Pretty easy to install - the ball/socket unit is not quite as articulated as it could be, was a little concerned as I have slanted ceilings. But it works well and hangs straight despite the fact that it doesn't really move in the socket freely.
Fitting the remote unit in the fan is a tight fit (it's not a "native remote" fan - it's basically a fan with an included remote kit) but it goes in with a bit of fiddling.
For me the light is ideal. Not quite a spot, not quite a flood - it's directly over my sink and is just what I wanted from it.
I actually opted to wide the light outside of the included remote (which does have a dimmer function). I used a wall dimmer instead since I already had something there from the prior, remoteless fan unit.
The 3 blade design is stable and moves a nice amount of air.
It's fairly quiet - low speed moves enough air that I literally have not had it on high since I first tested it on install.
The description and the box state that there's 2 colors depending on which side of the blades you use - well, it must have "color #2 guy's" day off when mine was produced because there is no discernible color difference between sides that I can see. Not that I care, but just FYI.
IMO it's a tad pricey for the quality (this is, after all, HD's house brand) but on sale it was a good value.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Jayfer1492 Beautiful fan but slight humming noise
This fan looks beautiful in my living room with vaulted ceilings. However, like most variable fan controls (i.e., fans with a remote), it emits a slight hum when the fan is running. If you have sensitive hearing, look for a different fan, especially for the bedroom. Installation was fairly quick and easy. The hardest part was getting the remote and all of the wires stuffed into the canopy. But my contractor was able to have it up and running in less than an hour. FYI - I had to purchase a 3/4" downrod from Lowes because Home Depot only carries the 3/4" Hunter downrods, which are threaded at both ends. This fan requires at least one smooth end that inserts into the hanger ball and is attached by a lock pin. Ideally, the other end should be smooth as well, but we made it work with a threaded end. That end is held in place near the top of the motor via several screws. Another reviewer for a different fan mentioned that they had to cut the downrod and drill new holes. Thankfully, we didn't have to do that with the Harbor Breeze downrod.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by PetworthDC Great price, attractive fan, convenient light source, easy installation
This was my first ever ceiling fan installation and I have to say it was a breeze. I'm not even a remotely handy person either. The instructions were clear and the steps were not complicated. I would suggest having a pair of pliers that can strip some electrical insulation since the fan comes with a generous length of wires.
The fan is rather attractive looking, especially with the chrome finish. I like the light source - it's a single halogen bulb but diffuses well, approx. a 10 ft diameter. No dimmer.
Operating the fan is a breeze. Be sure to set the code on the controller and your remote to something different than the factory baseline's code and different from any other ceiling fan remotes. I made that mistake and noticed my new remote controlled two ceiling fans! Oops!
The fan is quiet - produces a light hum while running at medium speed, little to no wobble. You can adjust the fan with the provided counterweights to correct for any wobble.

Really like the design of this fan and the fact that it has a remote control. Planning on purchasing another one for our great room. Moves the air well and love the fact that I can reverse the blades with the remote in the cooler months.

Lovely fan in the bedrooms. The unusual small fan blades are just wonderful. I watched the video on this fan prior to purchase so expected a lot. No disappointment here. Love the fan. The halogen light is bright. Would have liked a more ambient feel to the light but overall a great item at a great price.
