CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 4.0 out of 5 by 75 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Ugly Lightshade, but love the rest of it. I'm returning this, because the lightshade does not look like it is pictured on the box or online. The glass shade looks like someone took white paint and splattered it. I love the rest of the fan, but can't get past the lightshade. When the shade is over a light, it looks like there are dead flies laying in it because of the specks. :( May 26, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Good value but Globe Problems Easy set up, works good. Very dissapointed to find that Hapton Bay uses a proprietary globe fitting. Globes aren't available at home depot, or anywhere online that I can find. Only by calling specialized places where I'm told they may run $50 (almost what I paid for the fan). The worse part is the fitting design is terrible. By pulling the cord, you progressively put pressure on the globe, and twice it fell out of the fitting even though it was screwed in tight. Now I'm kinda hosed unless I pay a fortune for the globe. The special fitting also limits your design choices should you want to update looks. September 17, 2011
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great looking fan Love the look of the fan, fit right into my bathroom decor. August 25, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Great fan. Not so great if you break the globe though. I love this fan. When I bought my house, there were three small ceiling fans in the living room and they were all mismatched. I replaced all three with the Courtney fan. They look great, run well, and are very easy to install. My husband replaced all three in about an hour. The ONLY complaint I have about this fan is that it is near IMPOSSIBLE to replace the globe. We broke the globe on one of the fans about six months ago. We gave up trying to get a replacement and just installed a whole new fan. Now another one got broken accidentally last night. I am cringing at the thought of going through that process again. December 17, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very pleased! My husband and I purchased this fan with an open mind. We liked the looks of it, but it was the price that sold us on the fan. I was a little skeptical because it was so cheap but we are VERY pleased with the outcome of this fan. The airflow is perfect and there is only the noise of the airflow, not the sound of the motor. Also, with the light being more "yellow" I thought this would darken the room, but it gives off a nice soft, clean light. I would definately recommend this fan. I knew Hampton Bay was a nice brand, but I will not buy anything else in the future. Good luck! July 31, 2008
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Decent fan for the price The controls are very stiff - the fan actually moves you have to pull the cords so hard. the look is nice, and the price is good. If you have the ability to have the fan and light on separate switches it would be better. July 21, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Just make sure that you screw the globe in completely. Home depot does sell replacement globes for $18. I know from experience. Part #205488361 This is a beautiful fan that I have installed in my kitchen. I removed the globe a few months ago to replace the bulb and apparently I didn't screw the globe in completely because it fell and smashed into a thousand pieces. The brand name and/or model number of the fan was not easily apparent. However, I got on a step stool and used my phone camera to take photos of the top of the fan up by the ceiling. There are stickers up there with model information about the fan. Using the model number from the sticker I was able to track this down and find the replacement globe sold by Home Depot online for $18. The globe screws in like a light bulb and you have to make certain that it is fully seated and tightened. You may need a second pair of hands to hold the base still while you tighten to install, or loosen to remove. The base will sometimes turn along with the globe. As long as you keep these things in mind I think you will be pleased with the fan and the globe. April 28, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Bad Design The globe fitting is terrible. The chains are not designed well either as when you pull on them the whole fan moves. This caused my globe to fall out and shatter within the first hour of having it. I contacted home depot who put me through to Hampton bay's parts department, it would cost 28 dollars to have it replaced and there is nobody else that manufactures a globe that would fit this design. I opted to not purchase another as it was half the price of the whole fan, and I can't be sure if it will fall out again or not. January 20, 2012
