Is there another way to contact hampton bay customer support to order a shade?

Good day, I bought one vanity light fixture, but during shipment one shade broke. How can I contact customer support through mail to order another shade, since I live on the island of curacao, calling is a bit more difficult (costly). Regards, W.Bulbaai
Asked by: V1P3R
Go to your local Home Depot if there is one and ask them to replace the shade from a box in the store. Home Depot owns the company that makes the fixtures. They should replace it for you. Best of luck.

Is this fixture dimmable?

Is this fixture dimmable?
Asked by: Jade
Yes BUT !! You probably don't want to dim it. It uses quartz halogen bulbs which are different from standard incandescent bulbs in that 1) as they burn, due to the much higher temperature this bulb burns, the filament gasses are redeposited on the filament instead of the glass. This gives the filament a much longer life. 2) They cost more to replace. 3) If you reduce the power going to the bulbs, their temperature drops and the gasses now no longer deposit on the filament drastically shortening the life of the bulb. Better idea --- Buy the three light unit rather then the 4. It's cheaper & gives off 3/4 as much light. Warnings: 1) Do not touch the quartz halogen bulbs with your fingers. The oils will react with the quartz eating through it and drastically shorten the bulb life. 2) Make sure the unit (3 or 4 light) is installed with the bulb screens on the bottom to provide proper ventilation and catch any debris should one of the bulbs shatter.

How do I wire this fixture? I cant find the instructions and they're not online

The wire ends are sealed in shrink wrap and not exposed like any other fixture I've seen. Do I take off the shrink wrap or somehow poke the wires through it?
Asked by: Doug
Usually the wires have the insulation pre cut so that all you need to do is slide the insulation off. If not, a standard wire stripper will be needed. Set the cutter to the wire size to ensure you don't nick the wire.

I am perfectly happy with the look of the light in our bathroom. Our one difficulty is that within 24 hours two glass shades broke. At first I thought that perhaps it was slippage, but I checked all of the shades and they were secure. The next day another shade just blew when I was in the room. I did not see what caused the problem, but I am wondering if it is the bulb heats the shade and the glass expands and shatters.(Maybe a manufacturing chemical on the glass that reacts with heat?) Anyway, I like the fixtures. Our local Home Depot was SUPER helpful in getting us new shades for the broken ones. I am a bit leary as to why the shades are shattering and wonder if it is a manufacturing issue. If another one goes we will probably take these fixtures down and replace them so that we do not risk injury.

Very nice looking light, however check contents carefully as the glass shades can break even though they are well packed. Open box and check that glass shades are not cracked before checking out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from There is nothing wrong with this fixture! OK people here we go. First of all when you slide the glass in the fixture (do this before you put it on the wall) see if the glass is loose. If it is, gently squeeze the metal reflector until it is snug. Do this on all the reflectors until they slide with some resistance. If its too tight bend it out a little. Next DO NOT TOUCH a quartz bulb with your bare hands. This being said I get great compliments on this fixture. Yes it does light up more then down. I used two holes farther from the center to stabilize the fixture on the wall.
