CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 4.1 out of 5 by 48 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great outdoor fan -- once you navigate the instructions We bought 2 of the fans and installed them on our open porch in Florida. The installation instructions were horrible and very hard to navigate. Once we figured out what they were trying to say, we got the fan installed after 1.5 hours of deciphering cryptic language. The 2nd fan went up much easier because we knew what we were doing at that point. They look great outdoors! Hopefully they hold up in the Florida humidity! May 19, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Quality Product High quality product. Functions exactly as promised, smooth operation. Simple remote. Beautiful fan/light, very relaxing influence especially in bedroom, nice rustic look a real eye catcher. Included bulbs offer limited light due to dark globe but, can increase that however the instruction manual and the sticker on the bulb panel contradict and were confusing. Installation would have been helpful if it included all possible wire connections, like red and blue, had to go on line. Installing the remote reciever was tricky.Overall very satisfied as I have been with all my Home Depot orders. January 15, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by We love this ceiling fan! We are really glad we bought this fan...We love the rustic design and look of it in our family room. We have 20 ft ceilings so we needed to purchase a down rod separately. The fan has 3 speeds and the light has a dimming functionality that we discovered after installation. That's a great unexpected feature! The fan does not shake at all, is very quiet and has great air circulation. September 5, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Very disappointed This item did not work. Waiting on a part. Hope it will fix the problem. February 25, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Cheap light kit Light kit is cheaply made. Socket attachment to porcelain base is very weak. Use care when changing bulbs to not over tighten. We love the look. March 31, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Love, Love, Love my new fan, BUT I purchased this beautiful celing fan after researching others comments and because I really liked everything about it. I did, however, have to hire someone to install it. He said everything was going smoothly until he realized we were missing the MOUNTING SCREWS, a step that cannot be over looked for installation. Fortunately, he is an highly experienced handyman that always has parts from other projects with him and he had two in his truck. BUT, you would think that Hampton Bay, a company that specializes in ceiling fans, would include something as important as this, OR there should have been a notice in the instructions booklet that the installer had to make a separate purchase. Besides that, he said it was a fairly easy installation compared to others he has done. Personally, I love the fan, the light is an attractive low light so if you are looking for a light source, this is not the fan for you. It is an attrative addition to our living room and really does a good job of cooling the room down. My handyman like it so much, he said he was going to leave her and go buy one just like it!!!! Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Fan Good looking, stylish product. Small installation hic-up. March 25, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by varies from box to box, warped blades won't balance We liked the look. Bought two via online delivery. GOOD >>>Boxes came plenty fast, and undamaged. BAD>>>Boxes matched outside, but product inside had variations between boxes. (I looked for lot # differences on outside boxes but the labels are identical). Some differences mattered, some didn't: BAD-ISH>>>Antique tint glass globe color was close but didn't match between the fans, so if you want them in same room like we did, be aware the glass itself was a bit different - you can see one has a slightly mottled glass look, the other did not. I'm OCD, I notice such things. Others might not; HMMM>>> The antique look glass color is painted on the outside of each dome, it is not in the glass, and different paint was used on each (I know such things from finish). So DON'T SCRATCH the glass surface, the paint can scratch off, and don't handle it with dirty hands as you will be cleaning paint, not glass, and you can rub it off, or affect it with some cleaning agents; and, HMMM>>>The antique glass CUTS LIGHT OUTPUT. (You can use paint remover or acetone to strip paint and then glass will be frosted yellowish clear and you will have a much brighter light; other buyers have done this). MEH>>>Bronze metal tone of fan parts varied between the various parts - dust covers, fan housing, down tube, etc. all were a bit different shade of bronze. 10" away even OCD me can' t tell the color differences though. WAY-WAY-BAD>>>This was the MOST imbalanced fan I have ever hung - it wobbled BADLY. I am a skilled do-it-your-selfer and this is at least my 12th fan install. I spent hours trying to get this balanced. I re-installed everything. I changed blades around. I measured blade to ceiling height. I used fan balance kit. I used two fan balance kits to spread weight. I gave up. HERE"S WHY>>> wooden fan blades had warpage as soon as released from compression of product packaging. I cannibalized fan 2 to get flat set for fan 1, and couldn't because warpage continued over night. Maybe it was the 20% humidity of Las Vegas - but IT IS A PROBLEM. Warped fan blades made balancing impossible. One cast aluminum blade arm was angled off 1/8 inch from others. A quality control issue. Also, if you over tighten blades, the middle screw pulls them down and they bend concave as blades middle screw location is below blade arm edge supports - a design issue. Even taking care to not do this, I still couldn't get this fan close to balanced. Yes, I could call for new blades, and a new arm, but why? Still might not arrive flat or stay flat. Still might not balance. Both fans went back to HD. GOOD>>> Remote receiver wired in easy, and remote worked fine. Lord knows it got a work out trying to get the thing balanced, must have been 80-100 starts and stops before I just gave up. GOOD>>> Light kit has 3 bulbs, not 2 like most on the market. You can get more light out of it (if you strip paint); GOOD>>>Blades did move air - ok on medium - nicer on high; GOOD>>>motor was quiet. Only hear air moving - as it should be. OK>>> Instructions were fine. Easy enough to follow. March 28, 2015
