I was looking for something interesting, transitional style, and masculine to replace the old gold "boob" style light fixture in my master. This was easy to install myself. It has a nice pattern. There IS a glass filter on the underside. Other comments seem to be by people who didn't install it correctly (the tabs are hidden above the glass.

I myself have not skills in replacing anything electric, but my friend took down a ceiling fan and replaced it with the Edgemoor and it took longer to remove the fan then replace it with this light fixture.
it took about 15 minutes once the old fan was removed and yes it beautiful glad we made the change the room look so much better.

The first one I came home with had no glass. The second one I came home with the glass would not line up properly, when I turned the post around and screwed it in, it stripped the wires and caused smoke to appear. Why are there wires where the post screws in? This seems like a serious design flaw.

I love the design of this fixture. High quality and easy installation for our home office. As another review mentioned, the canvas is a bit off white, giving a yellow-ish glow even with a bright, clear halogen.

Easy to install. Used in hall. It has three bulbs so it really brightens the hall. Updates the look of our home. Love it!

This light installed relatively easily, and looks just as it appears in it's pictures. It fits well with both traditional and contemporary decor. It emits a fair amount of light for a small fixture, and because the design isn't flush with the ceiling, there is a glowing ring of light on the ceiling coming from the top of the fixture. Haven't had it in long enough to speak to long-term durability, but so far we are very happy with our purchase - high style, low price.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by mike99gt Bad quality control. Somewhat disapointed
I had high hopes for this fixture. I purchased one from my store and when I took it out of the box at home there was an immediately-noticeable black stain on the canvas shade. I exchanged it for another and when I opened it in the store, the shade was also stained! These were both factory sealed boxes. I had to go to another store to make the exchange. The first one I grabbed from that store didn't have any stains but there was hot glue on the shade! I was able to remove it without damage so I took that one. I have installed many light fixtures but this one did have some hiccups. The screws were too long for my (standard) mounting application. My ceiling junction box has a mud ring on it and that doesn't allow for adjustment on the screws. I had to trim them to get the light to mount correctly. After finishing that I noticed a bad lean to the shade. I thought that may have been related to my hacking of the screws but it turned out the shade must have been bent on the mount. I was able to tweak it back into place and get it looking good. However once I turned it on I wasn't too impressed. I started with 2 40w bulbs and the light was very dim for my average size dining room. I upgraded to 2 60w GE halogen Reveal bulbs but it's still a bit dim for me, and I don't like a lot of light! Also, the light from the Reveal bulbs looks a bit strange coming off this fixture. I may just need to get used to it. I have halogen lights throughout my house so the quality of light from this fixture was a bit of a let down. I may just need to let it grow on me a bit. The fixture does look nice and the lady at the returns counter commented on its good looks.
