A:  I don’t know of anything other than replacing the fan. I looked for blades but was unable to find them.

    A:  I doubt it, but check homedepot.com, seems like I saw some replacement parts available for that fan, which is still available btw. Maybe they have complete replacement sail- blades. Or call the manufacturer' customer service number and ask them what your options are. Or spring for new fan(s). 24 feet is way up there, so you might consider more powerful fans. If so, check out the Slinger II, which moves way more air than our Escape (sail-blade) fans ever did. The Escape looks cool, but reviews agree that it's not much of an air mover.

        A:  My set is 8 years old and started to look a little ragged due to spider eggs eating into the fabric. Tried cleaning without any luck. Looked for replacements and couldn't find any, so I painted them white. They came out OK, but as a backup plan I purchased an additional set as they showed discontinued last year. Think they were ~$200, just looked and they are now show $260 on the HD website. The blades come off easily (5 screws) and you may want to try an iron on patch for holes then paint. Mine are only 10' in the air. Good luck. frank

          Very nice fan. A little pricey but, in my opinion, well worth it. Installation was very easy with the exception of two minor issues. First, I used the shorter support rod since the ceiling was lower than 8 feet. Installing the finish cap (i.e., putting in and tightening the support screws) was a bit restrictive, so I ended up using the Phillip's head screw bit from my power drill (shorter than any other screw driver I have). Second, while most ceiling fans I've installed have rubber braces to prevent damage to the fan motor while it's being shipped, this fan has a medal plate. The instructions do NOT tell you to remove it, but instead there's a sticker with tiny, tiny, tiny(!) print on the plate telling you to do so. It took me a few minutes to realize this, after trying to figure out where the holes were to secure the fan blades. But, in the end, it all worked out well and the fan is a beautiful addition to my home.

          I love love love the look of this fan. As I type, a bad windstorm gusted through my patio and dislodged it. I watched it crash to the ground. Grateful it's still available. I've used it outdoors on my covered patio. The canvas needs cleaning every couple of years. If you can scotch guard it, that would be best. I know I'll try again with the new one. I had been looking for a canvas shop or an upholster that could repair the canvas for the blades. At this point it's worn and torn along the seam and doesn't present as well as it once did. The rope too gets rather weathered looking. I may see if the scotch guard will work on it. The only down fall to it is the metal casing that connects to the ceiling did rust out quite a bit. The metal casing around the light needed to be removed and sanded and repainted to not have it look so weathered and pitted after about 4 years. We used a rustoleum paint that lasted up until it just fell. We had the fan since 2006 I believe. It's 2017... the fall was a combination of not being seated perfectly and more so the storm. It wasn't a design flaw. I'll be ordering a new one straight away. It's a beautiful outdoor look.

            Beautiful, smooth, quiet fan that moves a lot of air. Slowly spins up to speed when turned on, and slowly spins down to a stop when turned off. I installed two of these in my back porch on a 4' drop, and they are still rock steady with no wobbling at all. The blades are a canvas-type cloth material, and it really gives a unique look. The only odd thing that comes to mind (if you are in the habit of sitting under a slow moving fan and staring at it on a hot lazy day) is that when the fan is turned to blowing down, which is what I usually want, the cloth "sail" part of the blade becomes the leading edge, and the wooden "spar" of the blade is the trailing edge. If this makes no sense to you, you won't notice it at all. If this does make sense to you, you will notice it every time you look at the fan.

            ESCAPE 68" Ceiling Fan
            My fan is installed outside over my 20' x 20' roofed patio. I installed it in mid November so there hasn't been an opportunity to feel it's effectiveness. The fan has great styling and really looks classy. I have a few comments about the fan that I feel should be corrected. 1.-The remote control module is difficult to fit into the ceiling bracket once all the wire nuts are in place. Too much to stuff into a small space and it took a bit of adjusting to get all the shrouds to fit properly. 2.-the remote control is unable to reverse the fan direction. The only way to do this is to get on a ladder and move the switch on top of the motor. My fan is mounted on an 11' ceiling with an 18" down rod putting the top of the motor 9.5' to 10' above the patio. I will have to wait until the Spring and Summer seasons to determine how well this fan actually works. The massive 68' blade span will hopefully move air at the rate described even though the blades turn slower than I would expect for "High". I only gave a 4 star rating because of the issues i have with the remote installation and lack of reverse from the control. It seems well made and is quiet so I would recommend this product.

            The ceiling fans arrived promptly as indicated in our digital receipt. They look terrific and they provide a smooth even flow of air over our bed here in the tropics.
