Answer:
They are bright enough, about the equivalent of 2 60 watt bulbs. This unit only uses one bulb and it is a CFL so it will take about 2-5 minutes to warm up and each its maximum output. While warming up it is about as bright as a 60 or 75 watt bulb.

I placed 2 in my hallway and it is low light but fits my requirements for that space. My walls are dark so am sure if you have lighter colored walls will appear brighter. Good lookin' light, updates my hall.

Answer:
Not sure how to quantify an answer there. I can tell you the fixture includes a 23W 1550 lumen, 2700 K GU24 lamp.
You can put whatever GU24 lamp you want so long as its not over 23 Watts in the fixture.

I've had this light for 5 years and the light just went out today. I need a new bulb and guess I'll need a electrician to replace it. I bought it at Home Depot. Do you sell replacement bulbs?

Answer:
Yes Carol. Home depot sells replacement bulb. You can do it your self. Just take a picture of the mount where the light used to be and show it to a sells associate in your nearest Home Depot store. They will help you find the right bulb for your light mount. For security remember to turn of the breaker where the light mounts go, when you install and uninstall the light. Hope this is helpful.

Answer:
The light uses a spiral GU24 fluorescent bulb. You can take the burnt bulb to Home Depot to find a replacement. If you cannot find one in store, you can order it online.
Be care when you remove the diffuser to get the burnt bulb. The glass diffuser is not secured with the metal frame, it may fall out if you are holding only the metal frame.

Answer:
Maybe Yes, maybe No. The on-line installation guide indicates that it takes a sideways mounted CFL bulb with a GU24 fixture. LED bulbs with a GU24 type base are less prevalent than screw in A19 base.

This fixture uses a GU24 style bulb base. It is a 2 pin twist. If you could find a GU24 LED then yes. The trick is finding a GU24 LED lamp.

Answer:
It depends upon the make/model of the GU24 CFL bulb you use. Non-dimmable CFLs cannot and should not ever be used with dimmer switches. Remove the cover and the CFL, and look at the base. Non-dimmable CFLs will be clearly marked on the base as being "not suitable for dimmers".

Answer:
The included bulb does not support dimming. To use a dimmer you will need to install a dimmable GU24 bulb in the fixture then make sure the dimmer specs match whatever bulb you have installed.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Modern and sophisticate look I live in near the beach in the caribbean where the weather changes constantly and my balcony tends to get a lot of salt residue. With this Hampton Bay lights mount i found the perfect durable, modern and sophisticated look i was looking for. May 13, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Glad I got it way on sale, would have returned if had paid full price This thing is kind of cheap and use very odd light bulb. I got it on sale for $15. Which I feel I got my money's worth. Full retail it is not worth it. It looks nice enough, but holding it it is very cheaply constructed. It is a light fixture and it's not like it will take any abuse or anything so it should hold up. My other grip is it comes with a CFL bulb in a strange type. Not your typical screw in type. Firsts off I hate CFL bulbs, they are full of mercury, so if they break and you have kids you have a real problem. Second, just my preference, I just like standard screw in bulbs, easy to replace, easy to find different types of bulbs and so on, this type I have never seen, so I doubt there is a lot of variety. It is CFL so it should last a while. I would not have bought this even on sale had I known what I was getting. December 8, 2015

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Awesome Lighting! I put these lights in my basement and love them. I have achieved the updated look that I so desired. They look modern and on point! December 8, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by flushmount hall fixture very clean design and easy to install. Attractive, and great value. Get lots of compliments December 8, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love the style of this light! We put this light and similar, brighter, LED lights throughout our coastal home. This particular light was for a guest bedroom where a very bright light was not needed. It is perfect in style and function for the bedroom. If you want a brighter light, try the same style in the LED. We love the flushmount for our smaller scale home. It was easy to install. September 29, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Most excellent fixture I don't expect too much from a flush mounted ceiling fixture so I was surprised how great this fixture looks in my hall. Very updated look with just the right amount of light . My electrition said this was a safe fixture as it gives out very little heat as opposed to the ones I had him replace. Looks like it costs a lot more than it did. September 1, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Hit and miss - LED driver might fail with dimmer I bought two of these, installed them on a single dimmer switch, and within a week one of them failed to provide anything but minimal light. The other worked fine. I replaced the malfunctioning one and the replacement has been going for a few weeks now without a problem. The fixture for this light luckily has the screw holes in two places so it fits with the newer larger fixtures or with smaller light fixtures in an older house. I tried the larger size model and it wouldn't fit because it only had one set of screw holes that were too far apart. One design flaw that is irksome, it seems easy for bugs to crawl into the shade and die and leave a black spot on the light. To clean them out, you have to unscrew the shade in remove it and blow it out. June 16, 2015
