The Hampton Bay 52 in. Flowe ceiling fan offers traditionally classic design with a few modern touches. With quiet motor technology, this ceiling fan produces maximum airflow with minimal noise so you can enjoy the comfort of air circulation without the distraction of a noisy fan. The fan also features design elements to hide the mounting hardware for added beauty. The Flowe installs in minutes thanks to QuickFit installation components like QuickInstall blades, a slide-on mounting bracket, and AccuArm blade arms with preinstalled screws. The Mediterranean bronze finish is complemented by a sandstone glass bowl light kit and comes with three 14-Watt medium based CFL bulbs. An included full function remote control allows you to control the fan's speed and lights.

fan slows down

Whether I turn the fan on or off by the wall switch or by the remote I can set the fan at its highest speed #3 in the evening by morning it has slowed to the lowest speed #1. Does this mean the fan motor is overheating, doesn't feel hot or a remote problem? I installed another 52" Hampton Bay NON remote and it works fine. It keeps running where I have it set.

Answer:
Sorry to hear that you are having this issue. To ensure that the remote is not receiving signal interference (which could cause the speed to change) please change the dip switch settings in the remote and the receiver. If the problem continues, please call customer service and they will be able to troubleshoot further and send any necessary replacement parts.

Answer:
Thank you for your question. You can install the Flowe fan to the switch you referenced, however, you will lose the remote control function. You will need to bypass the remote's receiver (not install the receiver) and wire directly to the wall switch. You can not use both the remote and wall control.

Answer:
You can bypass the remote receiver and just hook the fan's light wire (blue wire) to the dedicated light switch wire from the house.

Answer:
Thank you for your question. Yes, this fan can be installed to a wall switch, but you will lose the remote function as you will have to bypass (not install) the receiver and wire directly to the wall switch. The fan has separate wires for fan speed and light control.

Can I replace a ceiling fan with a remote controlled fan?

The fan I am replacing did not have a remote control. It operated off of a switch at one end of the room that controlled both the light and the fan. At the other side of the room is a switch to turn the light on or off. Will the installation of a new remote controlled fan be difficult to install and will it need added parts.

Answer:
Yes, you can replace this. Installation is no more difficult than any other ceiling fan. The remote control unit is very easy to install and you can keep the switch on the wall as is if you like.

Answer:
The fan comes with a control box for the remote that you connect to wire harness to hook up electricity. The fan comes with everything you need to install and the previous fan bit mint being remote had no bearing.

Thank you for your interest in the Flowe ceiling fan. This fan can replace an existing fan like you described. In general, remote control ceiling fans are not able to be wired to wall controls that control speed and light separately. It is an either/or situation - either you use the remote control, or you use a wall control, you can not use both. One option would be to not install the remote control that is included, that would allow you to continue to operate the fan as you are doing now. Or, you install the remote receiver, and only wire the fan to the on/off switch. The remote fan IS compatible with a standard on/off toggle switch. Many people install the fan using an on.off toggle, and the fan's receiver has a memory function - so, if the fan is on medium (or any speed) and the light is on when the switch is turned off, the next time the switch is turned on the fan will turn back on to medium speed with the light on. Rated 3.9 out of 5 by 153 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Fan for the price.. Very nice looking fan. Easy to install. super quiet. great features for the price. Came with everything needed to install. Great buy. March 12, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Fandamonium I installed this fan recently. The box claims 15 minute installation and although easy it took about 45 minutes. There was slight difficulty managing wires with remote sensor but was manegable. The fan runs quietly even on the high setting. The light delays about a second and a half when you hit light button to turn on. Great fan otherwise at a reasonable price. February 10, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A "COOL" Fan did a lot of research to replace a current Hampton Bay fan in our bedroom who's motor prematurely stopped working. Replaced that fan with the Flowe which has got a very sleek appearance which is not at all indicative with the price we paid for the fan at HD. We were most impressed with the many streamlined installation features advertised for this fan. We are especially pleased with the remote control operation. One drawback which Hampton Bay should rectify. You cannot use the dimmer feature of the remote control with the bulbs provided with this fan. to be able to use the dimmer feature of the remote you need to replace the fluorescent bulbs provided with incandescent bulbs. Once you come to this realization, the fan, and its operation is impeccable..... April 23, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good purchase The fan was easy to assemble. Think instructions could have been better they were alright. It is very quiet and not to heavy. Dislike the fact that fan does not have chain for light or fan if you loose remote its stuck in what ever setting it was on. Also when you flip light switch you have a 2second delay before light comes on they told me this was normal because receiver in fan has to power on first. I do not like that at all. I would buy one with chain next purchase already had this one installed or would have carried back. The fan itself works great and puts out lots of air. April 12, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great fan at a grwat price I bought this fan because I was looking for an economical fan for my master bedroom. Overall, it's been great. No issues with the speed. No shuddering or balancing problems. Installationwas ok. But thewiring is very tight, particularly with the wireless remote receiver. I ended up cutting about two feet of wire from the fan assembly to fit it all in. That said, it has operated flawlessly. The CFL bulbs take a bit of time to warm up, but I appreciate that early in the morning when the lights are not jarring! April 12, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by 52" ceiling fan I did a lot of research to get all the features I wanted and am very impressed with this fan. It moves air at a faster rate than many fans, has a remote and can use 3 CFL or LED bulbs for enough light. April 23, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by looks nice, but we are disappointed in the amount of air flow provided (it is weak) and it occasionally makes an annoying clicking sound when it should be otherwise quiet September 29, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love these Love these fans so much I bought two! I would definitely recommend! March 29, 2016
