CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 4.3 out of 5 by 13 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Hampton Bay Meets Expectations; Quality Product I looked at this fan more than one hundred times on the HD web site. I was apprehensive about the yellow colored frosted bowl light kit in the photograph. To my relief, the frosted bowl that I received was white. I proceeded to unpack the unit and all of the parts were there. There instructions were well written. I was able to install the fan by myself and it could not have been easier. All of the wiring is color-coded and properly identified. The remote receiver was surprisingly designed to fit flawlessly inside the mounting plate and was concealed without a struggle by the canopy. The unit that I received came with a T9 circline fluorescent light with a brightness equivalent to 120 watts per the packaging (or three 60 watt bulbs) and I am pleased with the light output, even through the frosted bowl. The unit has three speeds and I am more than comfortable with the air circulation produced by this model. I installed this unit in my master bedroom and the design of the brushed nickel, accents, black blades, and frosted bowl work well with my cherry colored bedroom furniture that uses brushed nickel hardware. I recently purchased a foreclosure home that had been "stripped" of everything. No problem. I've had the opportunity to customize the property to fit my own personal tastes. My previous home was a complete restoration where the contractor provided four beautiful new Hampton Bay ceiling fans of varying contemporary designs that ran flawlessly for me during the 3.5 years that I owned the home. I chose to continue using Hampton Bay products because of my prior experience with the brand. I have two more bedrooms to select fixtures for and I will be furnishing them with Hampton Bay products as well. August 9, 2009
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by This fan will blow you away! If you're looking for a fan with great looks and great features, you've just found it. The brushed nickel accents provide a retro Art Deco look, while the modern features such as a remote control, three speed fan, and compact fluorescent light (included) add ways to stay cool and save energy. Some important notes: the glass bulb cover is white, not amber as in the photo. Also, if you live in a multi-family dwelling (i.e, apartment, condo, townhouse), be sure you code the remote control differently from your neighbors, so that you don't turn on their fan, and they don't turn on yours. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Glorious, quiet, cut my electric bill. Tricky transmitter install. I never lived in a place with a ceiling fan. I never installed a ceiling fan until I got this product. Now I want ceiling fans everywhere. First things first: this item does not have a yellowish globe, the glass is white. (For me, that was key.) I assembled and installed this myself. As a 5'-5" female non-electrician with a broken thumb, at the time, this was a challenge, considering. But, the instructions were good, the kit came with one extra screw/washer for each application, and I was able to put it up in one day. (How many hours it took me, I don't remember.) Some of the language in the instructions was vague, but--with the help of the Internet--I was able to understand what the directions meant to say, in other words. One thing, though: the transmitter box IS supposed to go inside the canopy/mounting bracket. In my situation, that meant that the little rigid box had to fit inside and through all of the wires that connect the fan to the electrical system. Without a lot of leeway, and with no second pair of hands to assist me, this was probably the hardest part of the installation. I couldn't believe that the transmitter was really supposed to go in there, but it fit, and it worked. Now, about the daily joy of owning this fan. It comes with its own light bulb, and 30W CFL is actually pretty bright. The remote is delightful, you can set your own code to make it work, and it comes with a bracket you can mount to the wall, so you can store it, too. The remote does *not* come with the required 9V battery, though. When running on high speed, this fan uses as much power as a 75-watt bulb (if memory serves), so if that's important to you, understand it's like having a 75-watt bulb on constantly. That said, on high speed, it has tremendous CFM airflow (that's what the 6,900 refers to), and it makes my 320-square-foot room cool almost instantly. When I leave my apartment, this fan is coming with me! June 28, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Beautiful Light - Takes Patience to Hang This light is beautiful, quiet and has alot of power. The glass is white not the yellow color as pictured which was perfect for my application. The installation was a bit challenging and frustrating at time but well worth it in the end...and my remote feature doesnt work yet but that might be due to the 3 pole wall switches that I have so my electrician is going to have to give it a peak. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Very hard to I stall I've installed many fans in the past and this has been by far the hardest. It took 6.5 hours to install and then it wobbles very bad. After hours of installation and then another hour of balancing it works great. The metal on the fan looks tarnished and the glass on the light is scratched. Run don't walk. January 29, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Looks good, but hard to assembly! These units look great, but the four I bought have been very difficult to install. I've installed over 20 fans in the past 10 years and these are the worst. The problem mainly is that they came with corroded screw holes. I needed to use oil on every hole in order to install the screws. I'm concerned that the motors corroded! November 8, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Better lighting than most. This is a very attractive (sort of deco) fan/light with better lighting than most. Experienced electrical guy had a few problems installing, but after a four letter word or two all was well. Very happy. December 23, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great looking fan great features, just remember to change the code on your remote if you have another fan from this manufacturer. Great looking fan and runs smoothly. December 11, 2012
