2. For maximum air flow, the fan should be installed with the tip of the blades 30" away from the wall.
3. For above 2, a much longer rod is required. We don't provide longer rods. Those in the market may not fit into the coupling and/or the ball joint. Since this concerns the hanging system, extra care / safety is a major concern. Using a longer rod may result in fan wobbling.
4. After installation, the tip of the blade has to be at least 7 feet from the floor.
5. In view of the above situations, extra length of lead wires may be required. Due to the size (inner diameter) of the rod, wire nut cannot be used. Wire connections must be performed by licensed electrician.

I would prefer to use a regular fan control on the wall (and not the one provided with the fan). What fan controls are compatible with this fan?

In most wall switches, they only have 1 capacitor. They based on the power supply to regulate the fan speeds. Full power supply (120V) for high speed, reduce a certain percentage for medium speed and more for low speed. In most cases, it ends up in noisy motor (electrical squelching sound),

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by no light kit, no battery for remote even though special battery..i returned them..HD disappointed me how can you sell a fan that takes a special battery without it? I installed it and could not test . nothing special, seemed chinsy overall...i guess the fact I had to make a special trip to HD to get a battery iced it...I returned both of them today.....and no light kit included, even though the styrofoam was molded to include one......even stupid that the fan blades are silver on both sides...someone did not do thier homework on this item February 18, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by LOVE THIS FAN!! Perfect in our modern house! Quiet! This fan is so great we bought 4! It's quiet and good-looking (just like the perfect husband). The remote control takes 12v batteries, so be prepared. Works beautifully, even at high speed the fan is still quiet. June 11, 2014
