Futura Eco 52 in. White fan Does the remote reverse the direction of the airflow, or do you need to switch direction on the fan motor assembly itself?

My reason for getting the remote is to avoid climbing ladders in order to reverse fan direction in the spring and in the fall (winter and summer airflow).

The slide switch controls directions: forward (switch down) or reverse (switch up).
A further explanation on the direction is included.
FYI, the remote control doesn't come with the reverse function.

CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 2.5 out of 5 by 2 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by You Get What You Pay For I was extremely satis satisfied with 3 other Hampton Bay ceiling fans with lights that were only $90..this fan, which cost about $50 more, without any lights, seemed to be made out of cheaper material especially the blade fans. Teh fan installed very easily i will give it that, everything worked fine that day. The day after though, the remote control, which is the ONLY reason i bought this fan stopped working. The fan still operates from a wall switch, just on/off, no speed control, but the remote has completely stopped working less than 12 hours after installation. Not very satisfied at all October 8, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Like the look, small attachment area makes install tricky Has a very clean look, quiet motor Remote box is not built in, needs to be wired in-line and is tight fit under cap, tricky install took 2 electricians almost 2 hrs. October 22, 2013
