Where can I get an 24 inch down rod for this fan?

Asked by: Outdoorgirl
A 24" downrod is available on Homedepot.com. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Hunter-24-in-Black-Extension-Downrod-25146/100395327 The downrod is described as black, but the difference between black and natural iron is minimal and the black downrod should closely match the natural iron finish.

can i use this fan whithout light kit?, i dont need it.

Asked by: mariana
Hi mariana, Yes, you can install this fan without the light kit. Here is an excerpt from page #12 of the manual: 12 Assembling the fan without the light □ In order to use the fan without the light kit, remove the switch cup (E) from the top of the switch cup/light kit assembly by removing the center hex nut inside the switch cup (E). □ Thread the switch cup (E) off of the threaded nipple on the top of the switch cup/light kit assembly. □ Remove the four screws (AA). □ Press the plastic plug (FF) into the center hole of the switch cup (E). □ Align the four screw holes in the switch cup (E) with the four screw holes in the switch cup cover. □ Position the switch cup (E) onto the blade plate and install the screws (AA) that were removed in the first step Here is a link to the entire manual: http://www.homedepot.com/catalog/pdfImages/f2/f24a5fb3-ce91-459b-94ed-63104387225a.pdf I hope that you enjoy your fan. Be sure to store the light kit for future use, if desired. Travis

We love the looks of this fan but we require flush mount. Does it have this option?

the havana fan in cambridge silver

Hi... i am looking for a havana fan to match taupe bedroom.... the cambridge silver looks a little taupy...is it? also...what color downrod would I choose and where would I purchase it. Lastly, can my electrician install a wall control for this unit?
Asked by: kap
Thank you for your interest in the Havana fan. The blades can be considered "taupy", with some tan notes. This fan can be installed with a variable speed wall control. The Cambridge silver is a specialty finish and extension downrods are not available in Cambridge silver. Depending on the installation space, a brushed nickel downrod may work and can be ordered online or in store. The downrod must be 3/4" diameter for proper installation.

What remote do I purchase to hang on the wall?

Asked by: Lialex
Hi Lialex, This fan has a 150mm canopy, so it should be compatible with most of the universal remotes sold at Home Depot. Please note that a remote is NOT recommended if this fan is installed outdoors. The outdoor elements will eventually damage the remote receiver and possibly the fan itself. Only use a remote control if this fan is installed indoors. Enjoy!

Havana 48 in. Outdoor Natural Iron Ceiling Fan is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 296.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Pretty but loud We had electricians install the fan. It's loud when turned to high speed. We will install it outside later. I am disappointed cos we paid for pretty, quiet and installation. We didn't get all three.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from NO AIR FLOW!! I'm not being dramatic! REALLY! No air flow! The previous owner of our house installed these just before we moved in on the front porch. We have 3 of these. In Atlanta, porch fans can make a huge difference in the summer months. Unfortunately, these fans are purely decorative. We've tried to move the direction of air flow (and in the process discovered a defect in one of them...it won't change direction), changed the speed, considered new fan blades (HD guy said it wouldn't work) and are now at a point that we will be replacing $450 worth of ceiling fans that are about 6 months old. The posts that call this out are absolutely correct. These do not push air at all.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst Purchase Ever Do not purchase this product. It does not move air at all. Placed it on a covered patio approximately 8 feet high and you can not feel a breeze at all until you are within a foot. The blades overlap and have the wrong pitch...they are positioned as an airplne propeller would be when feathered. I would remove it but it would cost me another $200 to have someone come and take it down. It looks good on a florida covered patio but is not functional. Wish I would have read the reviews before I purchased. Will not make that mistake again. Put too much faith in HomeDepot quality control.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Horrible Airflow! Before purchasng this fan I read other reviews and checked out all the specs very carefully. The room I was going to hang it in is only 12 x12. I knew others had said it didn't put out hardly any air, but I thought with the size of my room, it would be just fine, so I purchased it anyway against my first instincts. I love the looks and was so excited to try it out after installing it. Even on the high setting directly below it, I could barely feel air circulating. I was super disappointed. I took it down returned it and ended up buying my original choice and couldn't be happier. This fan was very simply to install and looks amazing, but if you are looking for good airflow or any airflow, keep looking. Basically it is only nice to look at.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from No Air After moving to Tucson we needed a new fan for our covered patio. This comes with a light. This fan looked very good and got it on sale at Home Depot. Looked very nice - with the "retro" large fan blades. Mistake! The fan pushes very little air. Just won't do for Tucson. My friend in the same neighborhood has the same exact fan and has the same problem. If you want a cooling breeze, don't buy this fan. Get a fan with traditional narrow blades. They are essentially the same aerodynamically as airplane propellers and efficiently move air.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful focal piece for the ceiling I was a bit worried about this fan when I read the reviews regarding the air flow. I am glad that I decided to go for it anyways. Not only did I downsize from a 52" to a 48" fan. My master bedroom is also 208SF. So I was really concerned with the air flow. I used a 18" down rod because the fan is mounted on a vaulted ceiling at the 10' slope point. So the fan still sits exactly 7' off the ground.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from very eye appealing but not very powerful The fan is very appealing but not very powerful. It looks great and made my bedroom very nice but the airflow is more out toward the walls than it is down toward my bed. it might be better in a living room or an open hallway or maybe even an atrium or sunroom where you want the air to circulate and not necessarily cool you down.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from No airflow I have never had a ceiling fan that actually produces no air flow. If you stand under this fan, you will not feel it blowing down. It looks nice on our patio but doesn't help at all to cool down the area.
