Answer:
Yes you can use any outdoor fan indoors. Outdoor fans have the added bonus of being more weather resistant and the blades are typically plastic to deal with high humidity (normal blades would fall apart in high humidity areas)

Answer:
Indoor use is fine. It is classified as an outdoor fan because it is designed to withstand the outdoor elements (water resistance, UV, shielding, etc.) put that does not preclude its indoor use.

It states in the description that they are natural palm blades, but it also states that they are "all weather" blades. Are the blades plastic or a natural material?

It's a composit, man made material. In the box it looked so-so, but mounted it looks great.

Plastic as this is a fan that can be used outdoors, and they need to be weather proof.

Sorry for the confusion about the blades. The Blades are ABS plastic with a custom natural palm finish. Enjoy this beautiful fan!

The animated pic of the fan shows a pull cord spinning on a lever while the fan spins. Is this accurate? Does a pull cord really twirl around??

Answer:
Thank you for your question. The 360 spin photos are created using photos from all different angles and the result may make it appear that the pull chain rotates with the fan. It does not. The pull chain and the center of the fan remain stationary.

No. If that's the case the animation is quite misleading. This is a wonderful fan! We bought two of them and are completely satisfied with the quality, performance and style.

Answer:
While the fan is turned off, move the switch mounted on the side of the housing into the opposite direction to create a downdraft or updraft. The motor will operate the fan in a clockwise or counterclockwise direction depending on the switch position.

Thank you for your question. The fan's direction is controlled by the reverse switch located on the switch cup (right above the glass bowl).

Customer Reviews

Rated 3.4 out of 5 by 148 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Moves NO air This fan looks great but moves no air at all. You can feel air about 6 inches from the fan but if you sit under it you feel no air movement. NADA September 4, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by very eye appealing but not very powerful The fan is very appealing but not very powerful. It looks great and made my bedroom very nice but the airflow is more out toward the walls than it is down toward my bed. it might be better in a living room or an open hallway or maybe even an atrium or sunroom where you want the air to circulate and not necessarily cool you down. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Beautiful focal piece for the ceiling I was a bit worried about this fan when I read the reviews regarding the air flow. I am glad that I decided to go for it anyways. Not only did I downsize from a 52" to a 48" fan. My master bedroom is also 208SF. So I was really concerned with the air flow. I used a 18" down rod because the fan is mounted on a vaulted ceiling at the 10' slope point. So the fan still sits exactly 7' off the ground. September 4, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Pretty but loud We had electricians install the fan. It's loud when turned to high speed. We will install it outside later. I am disappointed cos we paid for pretty, quiet and installation. We didn't get all three. August 31, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Havana fan Looks decorative but does not provide strong and cool air as a ceiling fan I returned product August 30, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Outdoor Celing Fan/Light This outdoor ceiling fan and light assembly was installed very easily and works flawlessly since installation. August 27, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by NO AIR FLOW!! I'm not being dramatic! REALLY! No air flow! The previous owner of our house installed these just before we moved in on the front porch. We have 3 of these. In Atlanta, porch fans can make a huge difference in the summer months. Unfortunately, these fans are purely decorative. We've tried to move the direction of air flow (and in the process discovered a defect in one of them...it won't change direction), changed the speed, considered new fan blades (HD guy said it wouldn't work) and are now at a point that we will be replacing $450 worth of ceiling fans that are about 6 months old. The posts that call this out are absolutely correct. These do not push air at all. July 1, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love My Fan I love the look of the fan and the air flow is great. August 16, 2016
