Customer Questions & Answers

Fan works, but once the light cover is in place, you can not pull the fan chain to turn it off/on.

If you loosen the nut that hold on the cover, you can pull it a little but it still does not function as it should. Has anyone else found a solution to this problem?
Asked by: kaytay
NO. THIS STATEMENT IS NOT CORRECT. There are two holes for the chain to go through right at the center of the glass bowl.

How do you access the light bulbs to change them?

So far the only way I can reach the bulbs is to reach over the top of the globe which is extremely awkward. I don't seem to be able to remove the globe. Any help would be appreciated!
Asked by: Frustrated
If you have small hands you just reach over the glass. Otherwise you unscrew the cap screw at the bottom and remove the glass to replace them. It's not hard.

Can this fan be installed without using the light kit?

Yes. As long as you can follow the directions you can do it yourself.

I installed this fan in my house about 7 years ago and I was very happy with the look of the fan and the quietness of the fan. This week, the fan just stopped working. The light still works, but the fan does nothing. I can pull the chain for the fan and the fan motor starts to make a slight humming noise, but it will no longer spin. So, after 7 years, the fan is now dead. My mother has Hunter brand fans in her house that are now approaching 40 years old and they still work. I guess I need to buy a Hunter.

These are very nice looking fans that hug the ceiling for more clearance in low ceiling rooms. They provide great air flow and the light fixture has soft yet strong light which is not too harsh for a living space. They were easy to put together and light weight enough to handle. I will definitely be buying two more to replace my last two old fans.

It is extremely hard to install! The instructions are vague and actually had some parts that could have been done an easier way! It took forever to get it put up but once we did it's wonderful. Super quiet and the light is very mellow and restful!

The installer I hired had no trouble with the install. I put in LED lights, it is still not that bright with 3, 60 watt rated lamps, even with the white glass dome.

However, it's cheaply made of the least possible materials so you'll need to be careful during assembly/ install. The heads of the screws holding the blade brackets to the motor are very soft and easy to strip as mentioned in other reviews, tighten them by hand; you can't pre-install these on the table because you have to put the cover on first, on the ceiling. There is a lot of wiring stuffed into a very small space, just be careful not to pinch any of the wires when putting the cover on the light fixture. Installation takes about an hour, presuming you already have a sturdy or reinforced electrical box in place with suitable wiring. If you have only a light wire and don't want to install a separate switch, this would be a good time to pick up a remote control for the fan, 5 extra minutes if you do it now. There are pull chains included for light and fan control as with most fans if you just want to use those for control. Vibration level: very smooth, well balanced with no unusual vibration noted. Noise level: low to moderate. I can only hear the motor from within 5 feet. If you think this may be an issue for you, just plug in the motor to an extension cord or old power cord on the table before install to listen. Overall, seems like a decent buy for the price. You might want to save your receipt just in case you need warranty service.

The force on the pull chains to activate either the light or the fan are more than the chains can handle. The design flaw is where the fan chain goes through the glass globe. It is not directly in line with (below) where the chain comes out of the fan housing. It goes on an angle toward the enter of the globe and then through a few more holes. WIth vibration and movement, those holes get out of alignment very easily. Once they do, and you pull the chain - SNAP. And the chain recoils up into the globe. There are three solutions. Buy a different fan. Buy a wireless remote. Drill a hole in the glass directly below where the chain comes out of the fan.

There was a 52" in there and it was HUGE. Of course the wife says....."don't get a small fan, it's not going to cool". Well, she was wrong. I installed this fan myself in a little more than an hour....my first fan install ever. In fact, the hardest part was taking down the old fan! It's very VERY quiet and pushes a lot of air....more than the 52" we had up there. Light is perfect for a 11 x 12 room. If I could put this up, anyone can. All you need are two different size Phillips head screwdrivers, pliers and electrical tape. No wobble....no noise....easy one person install!
