LED Bulbs?

Has anyone been able to find an LED light bulb that fits in this fan?
So far, all the options I have tried are too large and are preventing the installation of the glass cover.
Any recommendations for a manufacturer and model would be much appreciated.

The pull chain switch needs to be replaced. You can order the replacement light kit, Hampton Bay item 206118304, for around fifteen dollars, or fix it yourself with a higher quality chain switch for about ten bucks. This is a fairly straightforward repair if you are comfortable with electrical. If you installed the fan yourself originally, you'll have no problems with this.

- Purchase this replacement switch: Gardner Bender Model # GSW-31
- Purchase some lamp thread extenders such as Westinghouse Model # 7015000
- Purchase one thread coupling such as Westinghouse Model # 7016200
- If you don't already have them, purchase a few small orange wire nuts.
- Turn off electric to the circuit that serves the fan and light
- Remove the glass shade covering the light bulbs
- Remove bulbs
- Remove the entire light kit. There are I believe three screws holding it to the fan body, and a couple of wires that plug into the main fan body.
- Now that you have the light kit by itself, unscrew the little cup shaped thing where the pull chain for the light comes out. I think it's held on by a little nut recessed way down in the cup.
- The switch itself should be free to pull out of the bottom of the light kit now. Snip the two wires going to the switch right where they exit the switch.
- Strip about 1/2" of insulation off the wires you cut from the old switch. Fasten those to the new switch using wire nuts.
- Put the threads from the new switch through the bottom of the light kit and through that cup-thingy, and fasten it together with the original nut.
- I believe the threads coming off of the new switch are not as long as the old ones were. At this point, use the coupling you bought to fasten a section of the new thread adapters onto the end of the threads coming out of the new switch so that it closely matches the length of the original switch threads (I hope that makes sense).
- From here on, assembly is the reverse of removal.

Answer:
yes and yes. Home Depot carries the remote kit. You have to replace the receiver in the fan housing with the one that comes with the remote kit. It is around $40 I believe. If you don't want the light just skip the light kit installation part of the installation and put the round brown light cap that comes with the fan on.

. A " remote " must already be installed at the factory . The light kit ? Try a fan without one , I cannot remember if there was a " cover plate " in case you wanted to remove the light or not ,, sorry. It will tell you on the box tho. I really like this model fan I bought for my bedroom . Thinking of buying another for a second bedroom .

Rated 3.9 out of 5 by 530 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great fan very simple to install , Just like falling off a log , light weight , if you have any ability at all you can do this September 22, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love this ceiling fan! It's very quiet! We have a drop ceiling in our basement which is a bit lower than the overhead floor joists. Normal ceiling electrical boxes wouldn't work on a project such as this so we modified the framing lower between the 2 joists equally necessary to accommodate the ceiling tile. It was challenging but successfully accomplished! We couldn't be more pleased as we had to do this type of installation 3X, also for our flush mount Alabaster light fixture and our Westinghouse Contempra Trio 42" ceiling fan over the kitchen island. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Decent quality for the money Bought this fan to install into my daughter's bedroom. Simple to install, the hooks to hold the motor in place is a nice simple feature when installing. The one minor complaint I have when it comes to installation, is I wish they would ship it in the on position. Took me a bit to figure out why it had power (checked via multimeter) but the fan would not turn on. Wife asked if I had tried different speeds. Once I pulled the chain it worked perfectly. The fan noise is noticeable, but tolerable. Actually works well as just white noise. If you want complete silence this is not the fan for you. I will say I did try a Lutron Caseta dimmer switch on this fan and they are not compatible. The same type of dimmer works fine on my other ceiling fan. February 24, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great clean looking fan Needed a lightless fan for the kitchen to move air around during cooking. This was perfect and easy to install. February 23, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Really great ceiling fan. We got this fan at a really reasonable price (clearance I think). We were pleasantly surprised at how nice it is considering how inexpensive it was. We had no problem with the installation and it works perfectly, very quiet. It's perfect for the room and we're extremely happy. February 10, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Works fine but motor hums I had an electrician install these fans (I bought three) so I can't say how difficult it was to install, but it appeared to take him a minimum of 30 min. for each. They look good and appear to be well-built. They work fine in the three small bedrooms they're in (approx 12 x 12 feet). My only complaint is that the fan motors definitely hum, loudest at the high speed setting, and softest at the slowest speed. This could be a deal breaker if you like a strong steady breeze and you're trying to sleep. It won't be a problem if you only need a slight breeze and you don't mind a soft hum as background noise - sort of like "white noise." At low speed, I don't think it makes any more noise than a floor-standing fan, but you have to decide for yourself. It doesn't move a huge amount of air, so if your room is larger than 12x12 I think you should look for a larger fan...unless you don't mind hearing the constant motor hum at high speed. Also, the pull chain to change speeds is short, so you might need a chain extension if the room's occupant is short. All in all, it is a good product for the price. February 10, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by easy instalation, fits close to ceiling mail order arrived on time. Just what I was looking for, easy to install. December 8, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Quite and efficient Fan works well and the sturdy mounting bracket eliminates any vibration. The only problem I had installing the fan was the cover for the motor. The cover would not side onto the pins on the mounting bracket. I don't know if this is just a bad cover where the slots didn't line up with the pins. I had to drill two threaded holes in the cover for screws to hold the cover tight to the bracket. September 28, 2013
