Has anyone been able to find an LED light bulb that fits in this fan?
So far, all the options I have tried are too large and are preventing the installation of the glass cover.
Any recommendations for a manufacturer and model would be much appreciated.

The pull chain switch needs to be replaced. The pull chain switch needs to be replaced. You can order the replacement light kit, Hampton Bay item 206118304, for around fifteen dollars, or fix it yourself with a higher quality chain switch for about ten bucks. This is a fairly straightforward repair if you are comfortable with electrical. If you installed the fan yourself originally, you'll have no problems with this.
- Purchase this replacement switch: Gardner Bender Model # GSW-31
- Purchase some lamp thread extenders such as Westinghouse Model # 7015000
- Purchase one thread coupling such as Westinghouse Model # 7016200
- If you don't already have them, purchase a few small orange wire nuts.
- Turn off electric to the circuit that serves the fan and light
- Remove the glass shade covering the light bulbs
- Remove bulbs
- Remove the entire light kit. There are I believe three screws holding it to the fan body, and a couple of wires that plug into the main fan body.
- Now that you have the light kit by itself, unscrew the little cup shaped thing where the pull chain for the light comes out. I think it's held on by a little nut recessed way down in the cup.
- The switch itself should be free to pull out of the bottom of the light kit now. Snip the two wires going to the switch right where they exit the switch.
- Strip about 1/2" of insulation off the wires you cut from the old switch. Fasten those to the new switch using wire nuts.
- Put the threads from the new switch through the bottom of the light kit and through that cup-thingy, and fasten it together with the original nut.
- I believe the threads coming off of the new switch are not as long as the old ones were. At this point, use the coupling you bought to fasten a section of the new thread adapters onto the end of the threads coming out of the new switch so that it closely matches the length of the original switch threads (I hope that makes sense).
- From here on, assembly is the reverse of removal.

Hawkins 44 in. White Ceiling Fan is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 581.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from DO NOT BUY! Replacement Bulbs a Problem Installed this unit several months ago with little trouble. Two of the bulbs have since burned out and so went to Home Depot today in search of a replacements. Home Depot does not stock the replacement bulbs for this fan in store OR online. The bulb type "40 Watt Type B Candelabra Bulb" is VERY small and one cannot replace it with any other option as larger bulbs prevent the light fixture from reattaching properly. I have had no luck finding this bulb anywhere except at a light bulb outlet online which requires that I buy 25 of the gosh darn things. As you might imagine, I am not a happy customer at the moment. Also -- other reviewers are right: the pull chains are difficult to pull and the quality of light emitted by the fan (due to the oddly frosted/iridescent light fixture) takes some getting used to. I would definitely NOT recommend this fan.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just the right size for our smaller bedroom. Looks great in the room. Very quiet. This was just perfect for our smaller guest room. The look and performance is perfect and it works with our room decor. I am very pleased with this fan!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Looks good, but circulates air poorly and pull chain mechanism broke in less than 6 months This unit looks nice. We purchased it for a room that contains a lot of oil rubbed bronze in it. The fan does not circulate a lot of air. I have installed over a dozen different ceiling fans in the past 10 years and have never installed one with such low air movement. After 4 months of use the light switch mechanism began working intermittently and then stopped. The conditions the unit is operating is clean and relatively consistent. I took the unit back rather than replace it with one like in kind. Nice, but not worth it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible Product Bought one, looked beautiful, lasted for three weeks. The light fixture does not turn on properly. Chain does not turn light on. Had the electrician who installed the original fixture return to install the second one and it worked for about three weeks and light malfunction again. The chain does not work to operate the light of this fixture. The fan works but the light does not. Terrible product. Would never purchase again. Two strikes out !

Since I had to find someone to hang them for me and had to pay to have them hung, it put me past the 30 day return. Since they are in the same room. I now have to buy another one and pay someone to take down the old one and replace it with the new one. Poor workmanship has cost me a lot!!!!

Weak motor moves very little air even on high. The light kit is even worse, producing very dim light. It must be noted though that due to the federal requirement that fan lights use candelabra base bulbs, most fans are pretty dim, though brighter than this one.

The chain is easy to get caught in the fan innards before it goes through the hole in the frosted glass shade. I thought it was broken until I untangled the chain. Has worked fine since. It moves air well enough in the small room where we use it, and it is relatively quiet, no complaints there. It also looks nice -- suits the room. The biggest problem has been the lights. The three 40W candelabra bulbs are quite small for their wattage and burned out quickly. The only bulbs that size sold at the local store are nightlight replacements, about 7w (or the LED equivalent), which is not nearly enough light, or conventional candelabra bulbs, which are too large to fit in the housing. Replacement LED bulbs are available online, but it would be better to be able to get them locally from the place that sold us the fan...
