Answer:
Remove the light bulbs. Then pull the globes off by moving the globe from side to side. They are held on by two prongs which exert pressure on the globes from the inside.

Answer:
This fan has spring clip light shades, meaning that there are steel tensioners holding the glass in place. To remove the shades, simply pull the shades away from the light kit. You may twist the shades slightly. The shades will feel tight, but all you need to do is pull the shades off.

You can buy the 40 watt CREE bulbs from Home Depot. They look the same and fit. They are very bright but only come in single or 3 packs. Three pack is $20 + tax

Answer:
Hi Diane,
Thank you for your interest in the Hayward ceiling fan.
In general, hugger fans are not designed for use with a remote control. There is no area in the hugger's motor housing to install and hold a receiver securely.
Therefore, we do not recommend using a remote control with this fan.

Hi Diane,

Hugger fans, i general, are not designed for use with remote controls.
There is no area in the Hayward where the receiver would be securely held, therefore we do not recommend using this fan with a universal remote control.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Looks great! Fan looks and works great, I plan on getting another just like it for another room. July 26, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Don't recommend My husband installed the fans in 2 rooms with no issues and they look beautiful. That's the only positive thing we can say about these fans. They do not circulate air well or at all. They also have some flaw that makes them clank and the sound is really annoying. Both of these are coming down and going back ASAP. July 5, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Fan The fan was rather difficult to install because of the wiring in my home. Once installed, the fan works perfectly. July 13, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Ship to the Home - DIY If you can follow instructions - this fan is easy to assemble. Lesson Learned.......put the fan up during daylight. As the sun goes down - if you have the power off - it gets mighty dark in the room. July 12, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Absolutely horrible This product has a 4 star accumulative score but if you read the reviews, it's not correct. Some design flaw in this product makes it not circulate any air once it gets to speed. Nothing. It's a weird feeling watching a fan spin but nothing happens. It blows for a good 10 seconds while its getting up to speed but once it hits max speed, there is nothing. Read the reviews before purchasing. July 3, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Quality ceiling fan Very easy to install and super quite. Would recommend June 28, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Good looking fan very difficult install I had an old Hampton Bay fan that broke down on my and decided to buy the same type to hopefully simplify the install. My only positive comments are that the fan looks good and is fairly quiet. The first problem was that the shroud that goes around the ceiling mount is about 1 or 2 inches smaller in diameter than the old Hampton Bay shroud so I had to touch up the ceiling paint in my old house. Next, it is very difficult to get the fan blades into position within the shroud and screwed into place on the motor. In addition I had to cut the gasket material between the fan blades and the motor on two holes because it was not lined up and was preventing the screws from going in. After probably 20 minutes of trying to get the blades installed I realized they were rubbing on the shroud. I took it all back apart and found that the motor wasn’t perpendicular to the shaft. I took the motor back to Home Depot and luckily they exchanged it for a new motor out of another box. Remounted the motor and attached the fan blades to the new motor; no more rubbing. The next step you have to take out some screws that hold the light sockets to the fan, why were these not just provided in a bag with all the other hardware? I then found that the plate the lights mount to was not perpendicular to the motor shaft. It was not as bad as earlier but it made removing and installing the last screw difficult. In addition the light housing has a large rectangular capacitor that is tapped to its inside; it had been tapped over the screw hole at the factory. I moved the capacitor and then had to move it a few more times to find a position low enough so it wouldn’t impact the plate it was supposed to being getting screwed to. In total I probably spent 3 to 4 hours trying to mount the new fan; this does not include the time for the second trip to Home Depot. June 9, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by A good fan with a few issues. I liked the first fan so I decided to install the same fan throughout the house. There have been a few issues. There have been three fans that have had a metal tab holding the glass shades break off. This has occurred even though no one was handling the fan or lights. The second item was on the last fan I installed. A bad lock washer was installed on the motor shaft at the factory. The lock washer over lapped so it didn't sit flat when torqued down. This caused the motor to be tilted. I had to remove the shaft from the motor, cut the washer, then reinstall the shaft to the motor. April 9, 2016
