The decorative glass "bulb" on the pole appears clear in these pictures but in reality it has lots of gold overtones that look better than in the picture. The actual materials used and construction of the lamp is quite good. It's a little wobbly on carpeting as are most tall lamps so make sure it's placed out of traffic. It does have a weighted base.
The bad... whoever painted the gold trim on these lamps would have gotten a F or D- in art class. Read Less

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect for its location Reading light gives superior lighting for my morning devotions. Floor lamp radiates the light throughout the room especially when it is on high setting. January 20, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Lamp It is no wonder this product was discontinued not worth the money or not able to do what we needed October 6, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very, very nice Table Lamp, good for reading too! Looks just as good as the pricier lamps. Great gift to give too. The thread on one of the poles seemed like it was bad, but after working it a bit it went on straight.... Love the extra reading light. Make sure to get bulbs for it. November 15, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Decent for the money. First the bad news... the gold trim painting is done very poorly... may need to check a couple of lamps to get one acceptable if you're picky. The lamp is a bit wobbly on carpeting as most tall tamps are but the base is heavily weighted. The three-way switch on the main lamp at the top didn't work out of the box (it gave me off-off-bright-bright). I had to use my fingernail to pry up the copper center contact in the socket just a "tad".. just make sure the lamp is unplugged when you do that! After that I got off-dim-medium-bright when cycling the switch. The instructions in the manual say to pull the cord tight through the pipes as you screw them together. All well and good and mostly correct but for the top piece that has the gold flecked glass decorative bulb attached there is a shorter section of white wrapped cord that will NOT pull through. You must manually push that down into the pipe section.. don't try to pull it through from the bottom! Take your time aligning the different sections when screwing them together so that you don't strip the threads. If they don't screw together easily, they are misaligned. The good: the reading light is adjustable... uses flex tubing that bends. Maximum wattage says 60 watts for the reading lamp. The shades are glass and quite attractive with the white swirls mixed in. The decorative glass "bulb" on the pole appears clear in these pictures but in reality it has lots of gold overtones that look better than in the picture. The actual materials used and construction of the lamp is quite good. When you install the upper shade, be sure to "center it" before tightening down the plastic nut to ensure it looks evenly set and not lop-sided. It helps to have a second pair of eyes for that.
