Wire housing

This question is from Hollandale 52 in. Brushed Nickel Ceiling Fan

I bought this fan and installed several months ago, the fan didn't work but lights did and in the winter time, the light was what we were concerned with. I figured I would pull it down and reattach all the wires to make sure it wasn't my issue. It didn't correct the problem and I decided to disconnect the housing and see if I could see any issue. With the lights hanging from the cord, we turned it on and the fan worked great, I then closed it up and put the screws in, the fan didn't work anymore, I did another test and had the light portion dangling and the fan going, as I moved the light into position to insert the screws, it made a funny noise (like straining) and the fan stopped, I let the light dangle again and the fan started going again. Not sure how to fix this problem,

Mark,
My suggestion is just take the fan back to your local HD and have HD switch out with another Hollandale, It sounds to me that there is a disconnect once all the wire is in the housing. Mark,
My suggestion is just take the fan back to your local HD and have HD switch out with another Hollandale, It sounds to me that there is a disconnect once all the wire is in the housing. To ensure there is no problems with the wiring harness I would just replace the whole fan. The fan as a lifetime motor warranty applicable to the person who bought the fan. This fan has only been in HD for right around 2 years so it is covered. If the store gives you any problem call this # and ask for customer service specialist. 855-HD-HAMPTON

Rated 3.7 out of 5 by 70 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Frustrating I've purchased 2 of these fans because of their appearance. The first one was fine for 3 months, then started wobbling and making so much noise it couldn't be turned on. I bought another one and, after a month, same problem. Replaced it with a different fan and no problems since. This fan is garbage. June 13, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Poor lighting The product is fine in general, however the lighting is very poor. The bulbs that fit in the fan are B15, and that kind does not provide enough light. If you are ok with a low-light environmente, then this will work for you, otherwise, look for another product May 20, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great fan, easy to install Beautiful fan at a good price. To those complaining with problems doing wiring, or anything google it, better yet find a youtube video to watch. Any fan video will do. May 19, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love it!! We replaced our old ceiling fan with this updated one and I have to say it looks expensive considering how much we paid. I like the modern look to it looks great with our decor in our living room. October 16, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by So Quite Bought 2 of these fans for my living room, the room is large so I needed 2. Love the brushed nickel modern style of these fans and they are so quite you don't know they are running except for the air they distribute which is great. The price is also good and the quality seems to be great also, would definitely recommend. September 3, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by I was disapointed of this purchase I installed the fan following the instructions and one of the fans did work!! I review several times the manual and I didn't find any mistakes. Finally I install the second one (we bought two items of the same fan) and this works perfectly; we were so intusiatic to see our dining room with this issue solved but we get frustrated when at the end came with the conclusion that the fan had something wrong. We want to know if there is posible to make a claim to the store directly to request the change or if we need to send the claim directly to the manufacturer? How much time we have to return the item back to the store? January 29, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Buy a different fan. The housing was too low and the fan blades rubbed on it. Also, the brackets for the blades were not the same shape. Finally after using some shims to adjust the blade height the light component went on and I was ready to see my new fan run. Turned on the switch, pulled to chain, light worked but fan would not turn. Rechecked to make sure all wiring was correct and tight, which it was. I wasted way to much time on a low quality fan!! Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fan Easy install, big air mover for a flush mount fan. Nice and quiet. February 10, 2016
