Customer Questions & Answers

Will the remote included with this fan also make the light "dimmable"?

Asked by: buttermilk
The light can be dimmed by pressing and holding the button on the remote. It cycles through from bright to dim.

Looking for a fan that will provide a lot of light? What do you think of this one or can you recommend one?

Asked by: Jenny
For the Hampton rep to say this fan was designed for a small room and, therefore, has sufficient light is a bit ridiculous. No one buys a 52 in. fan for a small room. I have this fan in all my bedrooms, including the master. The light output in my 15x17 master bedroom is NOT sufficient. I put in LEDs (60 watt equivalents each) and it still does not put out enough light to read by unless you have the eyes of a teenager. There isn't sufficient light for a woman to put on her makeup either . However, I have my bedside light if I want to read and a lighted makeup mirror. All things considered, the light from this fan is a pretty glow and does make a bedroom look warm and inviting. I definitely would not use this in a living room.

Reverse is not on the remote. On top of fan motor.

Isolabella II 52 in. Tarnished Bronze Ceiling Fan is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 16.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from needs more degree angle on base. Its a nice looking fan. However, my ceiling slope is 45* and the base only accommodates 30* angle. Wobbles a bit. I like the dim lighting over head.

However, don't order this if you are looking to get an extension rod to hang it lower than the ones which come with it. We didn't know that the only downrods that Home Depot carries are for Hunter fans...and that there is not a standardized downrod diameter in the industry. Because of this, our electrician was not able to stop the fan from wobbling when we tried to install a 24 inch downrod. We had to return the fans and purchase something that either came with the 24 inch downrod or order a Hunter fan that is compatible with the downrod.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No hitches So I read that the fan would not work with a dimmer switch. After starting the install, it became apparent that it was in reference to the fan motor, not the light. As it turned out, there was no way to get the light connected to both the remote AND the dimmer switch so I was bummed. However, when finished the instructions revealed that the light could be dimmed using the remote! So no need for a dimmer switch. The fan parts are of good quality and it looks great installed. I gave an average for installation only because it was a long job, not for any fault of the product. I'm certainly no professional, but it took me almost 4 hours (including taking the old one down).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the look; picture on-line doesn't do this justice :) This fan is beautiful; especially the fan-side that has that vintage look. (aged brown blades with "worn" black edges.) It looks really nice on-line but in's Awesome! Installation instructions very easy to follow & it took no time at all to install. If you want a ceiling fan that doesn't look like a standard fan, this is for you. I love the remote for not only the fan portion but also for the light (and it even has a dimmer.) Far exceeded my expectations. It's well worth the money; especially because it looks so rich and you can tell it's quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful Upgrade! My fiance' and I really wanted to upgrade the ceiling fan in our living room. We wanted a fan that had a wireless remote so we would not have to pull on the chain of the fan or go to the wall to hit the switch. We also wanted a fan with reversible colors on the blades so we could change up the look whenever we wanted to. This ceiling fan does all of that and looks really nice! The installation for this fan is not for the happy go lucky first-timer. If you have installed a fan before, you should not have a problem putting this together! But if you have never done it before, definitely call a professional or a friend with some expertise in this area. Luckily between my fiance' and I, I had done a few ceiling fans before. The only downside was, this was the hardest fan I’ve had to put into a ceiling! Imagine me holding the heavy motor above my head while my partner did all the wire work and getting all the pieces together. Speaking of wires, the wires were way too long, looked like 4 or 5 feet, and made the overall project a mess at the start. I had to cut the wires to about 1.5 feet so I could make it easier to install the motor. When we finally got the motor on, everything else was a breeze, literally. Not to mention that the hard work paid off! Pros: -Has a Low/Med/High setting on the remote for the fan, as well as On/Off for the lights, and an Off button for the overall operation. -Looks incredibly nice, has a modern, elegant look to it. -Very quiet in operation. Cons: -Installing the motor was not an easy step; sometimes I wish the whole base part was already put together so all I’d have to worry about was twisting the wires together to the ceiling A/C wires and screwing the mount into it. -Whenever the remote’s batteries plan to go out, there isn’t an auxiliary option for controlling the fan. The battery for the remote isn’t an AA or AAA, it’s a special kind of battery. -The lights are special candelabra type. I would have liked to use some of those CFL energy saving lights instead. Also, would have liked some sort of option with the remote to control the brightness. Don’t let the Cons discourage you from getting this fan; they are really just preferences. It is not a deal-breaker by any means. Sometimes you just have to take a hit for the team in order to get what you really wanted all along: a fan that is upgraded both in regards to quality and functionality! I’ve invited my neighbors to come over and look at it, and they all marvel at it; it’s a very wonderful addition to our living room, and controlling it all with a remote makes it that much more convenient to have and use!

The Isolabella ceiling fan was the finishing touch to the lighting in our kitchen remodel, and the effect was absolutely perfect! The fan was mounted on a curved ceiling, so we needed a drop mount. We did not want anything dangling from the fan to distract from the beauty of the fan, and that's why we chose one with a remote. There was a bit of an issue with the instructions for installing the transmitter, but with two heads put together, it finally made sense. If you want a great fan with subtle light and a classic look, we highly recommend this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful fan, quiet and powerful I'll start by saying my wife loves this fan. It is beautiful and compliments the decor of our bedroom well. Installation was straightforward, however, when I ordered this fan I didn't realize that it had a remote control. The remote control sensor is a separate device that gets wired into the base of the fan, and since I was installing this in our bedroom we decided we didn't need the remote so I didn't install the sensor (more on that in a bit). I haven't installed a ceiling fan in 5 years or so and was impressed with how they've improved the process. There wasn't a time when I was really struggling with the installation and I had the old fan down and the new one up in about an hour. The fan comes with a balancing kit but I didn't need to use it. The fan set up great and works flawlessly. The fan looks great and is very quiet. Since I didn't install the remote I can't comment on that, however, it seems the remote is the only way you can adjust the brightness of the lights or the speed of the fan. I'm going to have to take it down later this week to install the remote sensor. (that's what I get for skipping something). The only negative I have is that the fan uses 3 candelabra bulbs (the fan came with 40w bulbs which was nice as I would have had to make a trip to get some if it didn't), however, this doesn't provide a lot of light. The documentation seems to limit the lights to 160W total (odd number for three sockets) so I'm not sure what I'll be able to do to make this brighter. It's possible that the bulbs are dimmer than they would normally be due to my not installing the remote sensor which controls the brightness, but I can't see why that would be the case. Aside from the issue with lights I can't find any problems with this fan. We love it.
