So I read that the fan would not work with a dimmer switch. After starting the install, it became apparent that it was in reference to the fan motor, not the light. As it turned out, there was no way to get the light connected to both the remote AND the dimmer switch so I was bummed. However, when finished the instructions revealed that the light could be dimmed using the remote! So no need for a dimmer switch. The fan parts are of good quality and it looks great installed. I gave an average for installation only because it was a long job, not for any fault of the product. I'm certainly no professional, but it took me almost 4 hours (including taking the old one down).

Nice looking fan. Tedious to assemble, but all fans are. I've had this less than a month and satisfied. The only thing is the dimmer on the remote acts up only allowing the light to turn off or on, not lighter or darker.

Installed myself replacing existing fan. Not crazy about the fan blade patterns. Wood grain looks like cheap paneling. Had to improvise longer screws to hold up canopy. Will not attach to ceiling with an angle using supplied screws. Had to purchase down rod from competitor. Hampton Bay did not have one. The lights are too confined in the glass bowl, produces a lot of heat. Did not feel comfortable with the supplied incandescent bulbs. I replaced them with CFL's to reduce the heat. Not enough wattage for large room. I would prefer not be able to see the bulbs through the glass. Wish there was a way to install bypassing the need for the remote control. Uninspiring appearance It is however quiet and moves air well. Still an improvement over old fan.

The Hampton Isolabella Fan is a fantastic product; it has everything I was looking for in a fan !! it was very easy to install, is very good looking, quite and the price was great for a fan with a remote control.
So far I am very please with this purchase.

I bought two of these fans base on appearance. Having a vaulted ceiling of over 16 feet I needed to buy the down shafts for both units. The remote control transmitter was designed to be installed in the ceiling mounting unit, thus requiring me to add additional wiring to the unit. This additional wiring work was necessary and I didn't have a problem with that. But,..........Within 6 months one of the remote transmitters went out, thus requiring me to go through the whole wiring process once again. Now, the second transmitter has gone bad, and I am without light and fan. The remote is a good idea, but I prefer the pull chain. In addition to the poor quality of the remotes, the directional switch for the unit is on top of the fan housing, thus necessitating the use of a ladder to reverse the direction of the air flow. Both units wobbles at any speed. I was extremely disappointed in the light fixture. The unit does not give enough light to fully light the room.......and I have two of them in the same room. I would not buy another fan unit with a remote or a reverse switch on the top of the unit.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Willwgp Wonderful Upgrade!
My fiance' and I really wanted to upgrade the ceiling fan in our living room. We wanted a fan that had a wireless remote so we would not have to pull on the chain of the fan or go to the wall to hit the switch. We also wanted a fan with reversible colors on the blades so we could change up the look whenever we wanted to. This ceiling fan does all of that and looks really nice!
The installation for this fan is not for the happy go lucky first-timer. If you have installed a fan before, you should not have a problem putting this together! But if you have never done it before, definitely call a professional or a friend with some expertise in this area. Luckily between my fiance' and I, I had done a few ceiling fans before. The only downside was, this was the hardest fan I’ve had to put into a ceiling! Imagine me holding the heavy motor above my head while my partner did all the wire work and getting all the pieces together. Speaking of wires, the wires were way too long, looked like 4 or 5 feet, and made the overall project a mess at the start. I had to cut the wires to about 1.5 feet so I could make it easier to install the motor. When we finally got the motor on, everything else was a breeze, literally. Not to mention that the hard work paid off!
-Has a Low/Med/High setting on the remote for the fan, as well as On/Off for the lights, and an Off button for the overall operation.
-Looks incredibly nice, has a modern, elegant look to it.
-Very quiet in operation.
-Installing the motor was not an easy step; sometimes I wish the whole base part was already put together so all I’d have to worry about was twisting the wires together to the ceiling A/C wires and screwing the mount into it.
-Whenever the remote’s batteries plan to go out, there isn’t an auxiliary option for controlling the fan. The battery for the remote isn’t an AA or AAA, it’s a special kind of battery.
-The lights are special candelabra type. I would have liked to use some of those CFL energy saving lights instead. Also, would have liked some sort of option with the remote to control the brightness.
Don’t let the Cons discourage you from getting this fan; they are really just preferences. It is not a deal-breaker by any means. Sometimes you just have to take a hit for the team in order to get what you really wanted all along: a fan that is upgraded both in regards to quality and functionality! I’ve invited my neighbors to come over and look at it, and they all marvel at it; it’s a very wonderful addition to our living room, and controlling it all with a remote makes it that much more convenient to have and use!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by maddiegirl Love the look; picture on-line doesn't do this justice :)
This fan is beautiful; especially the fan-side that has that vintage look. (aged brown blades with "worn" black edges.) It looks really nice on-line but in reality...it's Awesome! Installation instructions very easy to follow & it took no time at all to install. If you want a ceiling fan that doesn't look like a standard fan, this is for you. I love the remote for not only the fan portion but also for the light (and it even has a dimmer.) Far exceeded my expectations. It's well worth the money; especially because it looks so rich and you can tell it's quality.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Transplanted Installation was a breeze!!!
I am skeptical for the most part when it comes to installing ceiling fans. Either the instructions are vague, I'm missing parts, or parts don't quite fit together.
With Isolabella II 52 in. Ceiling Fan, I didn't experience any of those shortcomings.
The directions were clear, precise, and well written. All required hardware was included, and the fan was very easy to install. What else can I say. It was a joy to install.
Once installed, it ran quiet, looked sharp and matches most decor's in a home. Very nice product.
