We needed a large fan to circulate the air in the upstairs part of our turn of the century home. This fan works great circulating the air from downstairs through the open foyer/hallway area within the 2nd floor landing. Keeps the house really cool and cuts down on the central ac operating time. If you have the room, go for 60" fans, they move a lot more air than a 54". This one only cost us $99 on sale and it's a Hampton Bay model which means quality and durability. The air circulation is so strong, it turns the ceiling fans in the 3 bedrooms when the doors are opened.

I purchased two of these fans as I saw they had good reviews. I've tried to balance the fans and can't get them to turn smoothly on high. Both are fine on medium and low. I thought they would be balanced better than they are. They also make a clicking noise some times. I would say they are decent fans, but nothing great.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nick Good fan, watch out for "QC" and instal
The fan itself looks and works great! It's one of the cheapest 60" fans I could find that I also liked the look of. It really moves air nicely and the light kit works well with led bulbs, and are standard base and not the candelabra base bulbs that most use now a days. Would have rated it a 5 if it had not been for the so called "QC" next to a cross threaded screw. When removing the rubber bumpers from the motor, one of them was at a very noticeable angle, cross threaded in the hole. If it wouldn't have been for a having a tap and die set around (which I am sure most users probably don't, I know I didn't up until a week ago) then I would not have been able to attach one of the blades. What really irked me about it was that the "QC" sticker was place RIGHT BESIDE IT. Other than that, the fan looks to be made well. The install itself was alright, but because of the one beauty ring, the main ceiling ring doesn't drop down as far as usual so it was a tight squeeze to be able to wire. Overall, would buy again and recommend!

1st thing when I ordered the fan
online it came within 2 days. It was so easy to install, very understandable instructions. 2nd the fan is durable, beautiful and very very quiet even on the high setting. No shaking or vibrating and I enjoy the light shade so I have a softer light when I turn it on instead of the chandelier type bulbs that bear directly down on the sofa. 3rd it moves alot of air and has kept our living room cooler this summer than it has every been.

A nice large fan. Works well, high speed is like your in a wind turbine so it definitely moves the air.

the only problem we had with the fan was we couldn't add a remote to it.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by JonS Once You Get It Working, It's Beautiful...but that Took Me Three Weeks
I spent no less than three weeks replacing missing parts and asking advice on how to install this fan.
In the end, they had to send me no less than 3 separate packages (and if your fan is slow, it's because your capacitor is blown.)
It looks pretty and throws off nice light.
This was a pain in a rear for a novice like me to attempt to do. I watched Hampton Bay and Home Depot videos a hundred times.
I am waiting to see if this breaks. If it does, I will amend my review.
I wouldn't recommend this for a weekend DIY'er trying to do this.
