Answer:
It as well as most fixed linear track lighting can be wall mounted, as long as your power source is already there in junction box form in the wall.
You can also opt for a plug in adapter for it as well if you cannot hardwire it.

Linear Track Kit with 3 R20 Step Cylinder Fixtures in White Finish is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 47.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Confusing instructions The instructions cover only the ceiling type installation. I attempted to mount the rail on a vertical wall. The light fixture requires to exert a great deal of pressure to clear the rail and then turn it. That would not be the case if mounted on the ceiling. The installation video only shows this last application.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Right On Track I took down 10 year old white track lights that had turned yellow. I purchased my new track lights in black. I was a little surprised the track heads were smaller. I was not able to reuse the LED bulbs from my old track. I had to purchase new smaller LED bulbs to fit. Looks great and works great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE IT!!! I live in an apartment and I hate that I have to overhead lighting. I did some research and found the plug in attachment so I thought I would give it a try. It was incredibly easy. Just slide the heads on and plug in the power cord. I screwed it into the ceiling and... WOW! I was able to get rid of all 4 of my lamps. I am sooo in love. It casts an incredible amount of light and it looks beautiful on my ceiling. I sold all of my old lamps and now I'm planning on buying one for every room :)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great utility lighting, watch for broken pieces I bought three of these for lighting in a craft area in my basement. Installed and wired all three rails, then took the fixtures out to mount them. Of the nine fixtures, three had broken trim rings (see photo). Called to inquire about replacement parts, but was told they are not available. My only option would be to return the entire order for an exchange. I wasn't about to go through the hassle of taken them all down. I was given a 10% discount off my order for my trouble, Second issue is the width of the wiring coveer. It needs to be about 1/4 inch longer to cover a standard electrical box. Had to get creative with drywall compound. I recommend purchase, but check for broken trim riings before installing anything so you can get an exchange. Pros - Great price, easy installation Cons - Quality of the trim rings, wiring cover not large enough to cover standard electrical box.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Having Installation Issues? Read This! I purchased four of the 4-foot Hampton Bay track lighting kits (4-foot track with three lights), along with three 8-foot pieces of linear track and one 4-foot piece of linear track. To connect all of this, I purchased 5 straight connectors and 2 90-degree connectors. This allowed me to create a large U-shaped track in a media room. At the end of the day, the system looks good, and eventually, I was able to get it working properly. I will also say that you get pretty good bang-for-the-buck out of this system, even considering the manufacturing flaws I'm detailing in this review. However, the build quality of the internal track components is very poor, which can make installation a real problem if you're connecting multiple pieces of track to build your system. My brother and I are extremely "handy" - we were able to properly install and anchor all of the track in one short evening. However, we were disappointed to find that when we hit the switch to power the system for the first time, only the first leg of our U-shape lit up. No power was flowing to the bottom of the U or its second leg. Subsequent fiddling revealed that each piece of the track worked individually, and the whole second leg worked by itself, but the bottom leg of the U was a no-go, and the system wasn't working together all at the same time. We double-checked all connections, etc... and spent almost as much time fiddling with everything as we had spent installing it to try to determine the source of the problem. It turned out that the copper conductors inside each track (2 on one side and 1 on the other) are not long enough to go all the way to each end of the track, and most of them are not centered up inside the track pieces. Additionally, the plastic sleeves in which they are housed inside each side of the track can loosen and shift once you push a connecting piece into one end or the other. This sometimes results in some of the copper conductors failing to contact with the connectors you're trying to use to build your system. I went back to the store and bought replacement track, only to find the same design flaw. Also, if you read some of the other reviews (which I didn't before my purchase), you'll notice the same flaw being mentioned. This really should be addressed by the manufacturer - it wouldn't be hard to fix. In any case we (finally) found a solution. We reluctantly took each problematic piece of track down and carefully centered each copper piece inside its plastic sleeve. We did this by GENTLY tapping the copper pieces into place with a small screwdriver and hammer. Then we centered each plastic sleeve inside the track and locked these in place by installing a light at each end of the track. The pressure exerted by twisting the lights into position holds the plastic sleeves in place, assuring that the copper is still centered up inside. Next, we gently installed everything again. We did still find that there is an issue getting some of the pieces to properly connect with the 90 degree connectors in particular. Solution: jiggle them. a lot. LOL...but seriously, we were able to jiggle things a bit to get them to work. We also gently tapped the connectors fully in place with a small hammer to ensure the tightest connection possible. Eventually, it worked. Hope this helps!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Ceiling cover plate too small for round electrical box The strip light is a good value and installation is relatively simple, but if you use a round electical box in the ceiling, the square cover plate does not cover it completely.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Most sticky labels award In general, I am quite happy with this new track light. It looks nice and lights quite well. My only complaint is that each of the four individual light heads has not one, not two, not three, but four sticky labels to make sure that I don't use a bulb with too high of a wattage. In reality, I suspect that one appropriate label could be used, and at most four. And naturally if you try to remove any label, the adhesive does not come with the label, but remains on the head assembly. Fortunately, with the lights on, you can't actually see the ugly labels or abandoned adhesive.
