The fan has a 15 year warranty. Extended warranties are sold thru Home Depot at the time of the sale. you may want to contact Hampton Bay and ask if they offer your extended warranty.

You don't really need a extended warranty on a 26 dollar fan...labor alone will cost more than what the fan is worth....at least for my hourly wage

Answer:
Extended warranty is unnecessary for this item. Manufacturer will replace if any part is defective. If your fan turns on you'll have several years of trouble free operation. Both fans I installed were pre-balanced and made no noise. Great item for the home installer.

Answer:
You will need to buy the hardware that supports the fan in the ceiling and also hardware for an electrical box that goes in the ceiling as well. you will need to have an electrician install the wiring (s/he will also be able to install the connector box and support as well in most instances - per local building code.
Once you have done that - the fan has everything else needed to install the fan.

Everything is included to install this fan directly into an existing electrical box. I have an older house, 1957, and had no problem with fan weight. Even back then, boxes were installed properly and anchored to a joist. If you have no box in your ceiling then one would have to be added; a very rare occurrence indeed.

Answer:
Well, what size that remote is? What model? Probably yes, because glass cover is big and even if you will install CFL light buld, there will be lot of space.
Is it not more easy to just put in LED light bulb with remote instead? Regular or disco LED light bulb with remote works very well.

Answer:
No. The motor assembly takes up all the available space. Any of the fans with a down rod will accept a remote. If ceiling height is an issue simply shorten the rod and drill a new cross pin hole.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Poor, very poor, air flow Had high expectations because of the good reviews. But I can barely feel the air--I had to double check that the switch was set to forward rather than reverse. It looks nice but it's pointless with barely any airflow. I'm returning it tomorrow. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by builder quality motor hums - seems to hum louder on LOW, but if you can tolerate the humming, it works just fine. I selected NO recommendation based on the humming. "Perhaps (with limitations)" would have been my preferred recommendation. June 19, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Junk I put this fan up it went smooth. But, it ran for less than 30 minutes. Now there's oil leaking out. And it makes a loud squeaking noise. Now I have to take it down and take it back. More trouble than it's worth. You definitely get what you pay for with thus fan. May 25, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by HIGH QUALITY WITH AN ECONOMIC PRODUCT I bought 3 of these ceiling fans for my children's room. Working without noise or vibration. It works at speed more than enough to cool the room. By having a single light, saves 66 % of electricity compared with 3 lights. In addition to working on the 2nd speed usually it is the most used, consumes only 30 watts. This only means a insignificant consumption of 0.03 kw / h, great for those who like to save electricity. In my case I use it to help to distribute the central air conditioning more efficiently throughout the room. This allows me to set the thermostat to a more economical temperature. My kids liked most use the blades on the side that are not painted white, because the texture of the wood finish gives a better view contrasting with the white ceiling fan chassis. This we can see from the pictures. July 30, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not even worth $30 When I first turned this fan on I actually laughed. It doesn't seem to move any air! And yes, the blades were rotating CCW. I immediately retuned it. I'm much happier with my Vornado floor fan. April 2, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A Great Fan at a Great Price! We purchased two of these fans from our local Home Depot a few years ago and have been happy with them, so I picked up the same one for another bedroom without hesitation. I love that they changed the light bulb base to medium, as the intermediate base bulbs required by the older model are getting difficult to find. The mini CFL bulbs fit perfectly in this one, the standard ones are too long. I managed to install this myself while my husband was gone, and it was fairly quick and easy. No wobbling and no noisy motor or other parts. It's running smoothly and moves the air wonderfully in a smaller bedroom. July 8, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by overall a good buy for the money I had an old Hampton Bay fan which finally wore out. Home Depot tried to find a replacement motor but after exhausting all avenues it came down to the age of my old fan and no parts were available anywhere, even the original mfg. of the motor. Home Depot did give me a credit toward a new fan as a result which shows what a good retailer they are. So I purchased the Littleton 42in. to replace it. The installation I did myself and it was easy. The instructions were easy to read and helpful. I was able to use the existing ceiling electrical box and support already in the ceiling. I had to change out the main bracket that the old fan used because the new fan required different attachment holes so I used the new fan's bracket. But that only involved two screws and those lined up the same as the old bracket. Not a bother at all. Everything else hooked up perfectly. The fan matches my ceiling color-white. please note that this fan does have a soft humming sound in all three speeds but I will get used to it and the sound is not annoying. But if you are expecting a completely quiet fan consider buying a more expensive model. I have a 14 x 14 foot living room and this fan is just right, I don't need anything bigger. I love the reverse feature which blows cooler air across the ceiling and clears out stale air there. It operates very well and has no vibration or wobble to it. There are many rubber washers and spacers that absorb vibration and prevent any squeaks or rattles during operation. I am pleased with the product and the price is very good. Comes with a 15 yr. warranty. March 28, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very stylish and quiet This fan is perfect for our very tiny kitchen area. It is a very stylish ceiling hugger mount and we were able to order a new lamp fixture on the website that fit the decor of our remodeled kitchen and looked great with the fan. It is very quiet and cools the kitchen well by keeping the air well circulated in a small space without feeling like one is in a wind tunnel! We like that we were able to hook the fan/light to our wall switches to control the fan and the light separately as well as using the pull chains. It was also a breeze, no pun intended, to assemble and install. We have been very pleased with all of our Home Depot products for their quality, reliability and reasonable prices. You could say we now have a Home Depot kitchen! September 6, 2013
