How to oil a ceiling fan?

The fan is starting to squeak.
Does it need oil?
If not, what can I do?

My understanding is that the fan has sealed bearings which means there is nothing to oil. The only suggestion I can offer if it didn't squeak before is to check all the screws on the fan blade brackets (to the blade and to the motor) and make sure they are tight.

I am automating my home with the Wink Hub and I heard Hampton Bay was going to have an option for their fans to work with this soon. Will it be an add on option that I could use on existing fans such as this model, or will in just be built in on new model fans? I currently own 6 Hampton Bay fans in my home, including 2 of the Lyndhurst model. I really don't want to have to buy all new fans just to integrate them into my home automation.

Thank you for your question. Hampton Bay will have a Wink enabled universal ceiling fan remote control available soon! Thank you for your interest in the Lyndhurst fan. The Lyndhurst can not be custom ordered with Oak blades, but you can order the oak finish blades as a replacement item by calling customer service at 1-855-HD-HAMPTON (1-855-434-2678). The oak blade set can also be ordered online (model# 8239204902).

I purchased the Oil Rubbed Bronze and we flipped our blades to the side that looks more rustic and has darker and lighter wood tones. The shades to the lights compliment each part of this fan nicely as well. Along with bejng aesthetically pleasing, it is also a very good fan! We put ours in our master bedroom and it is absolutely perfect. Everything about this fan is great. The orice was good, the appearance is good and the performance js perfect! Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Bad Wobble, problems getting it resolved Experienced serious wobble at all speeds, especially high. Called 800 number and was sent balancing kit which had no effect. Called back and requested replacement blades as I could easily see by measuring distance from blade to ceiling that one blade was heavier than the others. Agent sent wrong blades even though she verbally confirmed my model as well as taking the UPC code and receipt info. After a month of wobble, now waiting another week & a half for a correct set of blades to arrive. May 27, 2016
