Answer:
Either an 18 inch or 24 inch downrod. My ceilings are 10' and I went with an 18 inch and there is still over 7' clearance between the floor and the bottom of the lights. I would probably get the 24 inch drop since your ceiling is higher.

Answer:
Thank you for your question. For an 11' 4" ceiling, we would suggest an 18" or 24" downrod. Any of the downrods sold at The Home Depot will be compatible as long as it is 3/4" (.75") in diameter.

Answer:
First and most important, you need to know the diameter of the downtown required. I think it's 3/4". It doesn't matter what company makes them all the threads are the same. I would go for 18" long.

Answer:
My understanding is that the fan has sealed bearings which means there is nothing to oil. The only suggestion I can offer if it didn't squeak before is to check all the screws on the fan blade brackets (to the blade and to the motor) and make sure they are tight.

Answer:
Thank you for your question. The fan has sealed bearings and can not be oiled. Some reasons for squeaking include loose blades, or light shades. Please make sure all parts are completely tightened. Another reason could be the ball/downrod not being seated properly. If none of those issues are applicable, please call customer service at 1-855-HD-HAMPTON (1-855-434-2678) and one of our team members will Read More

I don't know what accu-arm is, but they were screwed on. Didn't need to balance it with little to no vibration.

Can we use different light shades other than ones provided?

I liked some of the other colors and shapes in 2.25 inch light shades I have seen in the store, and online. Would any fit well? I did notice that opening is only 2 inches wide on this particular model, and now I worry that that I could get stuck with shades that were provided with this fan, but I am not very excited about their look all.

Are these original Lyndhurst shade universal fit and size, or not?
Would any other light shade type/size fit?

Many thanks

I think you could as long as the base of the shade was similar in diameter. The shade doesn't need a lip for the screws to hold since it doesn't use screws to hold the shade in place but rather spring steel that holds with friction inserted through the base of the shade. The shades that came with it actually look very nice. Read Less

Rated 4.7 out of 5 by 66 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Affordable, Nice, I love the look of this fan! I purchased the Oil Rubbed Bronze and we flipped our blades to the side that looks more rustic and has darker and lighter wood tones. The shades to the lights compliment each part of this fan nicely as well. Along with bejng aesthetically pleasing, it is also a very good fan! We put ours in our master bedroom and it is absolutely perfect. Everything about this fan is great. The orice was good, the appearance is good and the performance js perfect! Don't hesitate to buy this, you wont be let down. July 25, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Beautiful product Be sure you read all the instructions before you start! The ring that goes in after the blades are installed should go on BEFORE the blades. Otherwise you risk scratching the blade mounts with your screwdriver. The oil rubbed bronze finish is lovely, and the darker wood grain looks gorgeous with our wood floors! August 16, 2016

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Cooler summer nights This fan is perfect for my bedroom. It is so quiet and keeps the room so cool and comfortable all night long. July 5, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Bad Wobble, problems getting it resolved Experienced serious wobble at all speeds, especially high. Called 800 number and was sent balancing kit which had no effect. Called back and requested replacement blades as I could easily see by measuring distance from blade to ceiling that one blade was heavier than the others. Agent sent wrong blades even though she verbally confirmed my model as well as taking the UPC code and receipt info. After a month of wobble, now waiting another week & a half for a correct set of blades to arrive. May 27, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by I'm a fan We hung this in our living room which has a 45 deg sloped ceiling. This is only made for a 30 deg or less slope, but we were able to make some adjustments to get it to hang right. We love the look! And it's providing great circulation. We would buy it again!
