Answer:
No wall remote but you can use LED Lights in it but bear in mind that almost all LED lights states that they should not be used in an enclosed fixture but I have had LED lights in mine for about two years with no problem.

This fan comes with remote control only. Yes, you can use LED lights with this fan. Not sure about the 6' down rod since it did not come with it.

Answer:
Just a remote. Since there is no dimmer, LED lights should work fine, it uses a standard medium base bulb. I think the wires are a bit short for a 6' down-rod. I think it accommodates a 3 footer. One might need to lengthen wires for a 6 footer.

Answer:
Thank you for your interest in the Marlowe fan. This fan is compatible with LED bulbs and longer downrods. The downrods must be 3/4 inch (.75") diameter. A wall control is not included, but the remote has a cradle that can be mounted to the wall and hold the remote.

Dimmable Light?

Does the remote control for this fan have the option to dim the light or does it only have on/off feature? Most of the other fans on the website say specifically if they aren't dimmable but this one doesn't seem to specify.

Thanks!

Thank you for your interest in the Marlowe fan.
The remote has a light On/Off function only, no dimmer function.
If the dimming function is a necessity, you can replace the included remote with a universal remote that has a dimming function and use dimmable CFL bulbs.

Answer:
It's hard to know if this fan would create enough light without knowing how big the kitchen is. The light kit does create a good amount of light, but typically kitchen lighting needs to be very bright to be able to see everything clearly. If your kitchen is a good size (large enough to install a 52" fan), it would be a good idea to have additional lighting.

I would like to install this fan in both a living room with a sloped 12' ceiling with a 3' downrod and a bedroom with a flat 8' ceiling. It will be the central lighting in the bedroom.

Answer:
Yes, I installed it with a 24" downrod on a sloped ceiling as I wanted the fan higher. But I'm sure you could go with a 3' rod if you wanted it lower. It comes with a shorter downrod so the install on the flat ceiling shouldn't require any additional hardware.

Answer:
Hi Nani D, I contacted the manufacture of this fan, and found out that you can not mount this fan on a sloped ceiling because the receiver would not fit.
You can mount on the 8 foot flat ceiling. Also the CFL's that come with the fan is equivalent to a 60 watt light bulb. You can use either an incandescent bulb or CFL's in the fan.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by A solid purchase, but need additional parts for vaulted ceilings. Love these fans, we initially bought them for the *Pine* look on the blades. Which ultimately doesn't look like any pine I've seen, it actually matches our red oak floors better than pine. We installed two in our master bedroom and they look great. They are quiet and create quite a bit of wind on the high level. A couple of things you should know when installing these, if you have a vaulted ceiling, you will need to get additional parts. You will need a longer downrod, the downrod that comes with these is only about 6" long. Along with a downrod, you will also need to get additional parts to allow to hang from the angled ceiling. Home depot has these, but we found the best one is from Lowes. These additional parts allowed us to hang from the ceiling and have the downrod not rub against the main part it hangs from on the ceiling. Once we got these things figured out, we were very pleased with the product. August 2, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great fan!! This is a great fan it fits my living room décor with a nice contemporary design. Now to the performance of the fan, this fan really and I mean really moves air. The first floor of my house has an open design and the air from the fan can be felt in the three other rooms surrounding the living room. now that to me is amazing!!! I love this fan and it was money well spent. Great is great and then there is other stuff. July 1, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Dependable Stylish Fan Got this fan for a bedroom in our new house. The lovely glass shade was broken when we opened up the box. We contacted through Home Depot, the company and they shipped out a new one with no problems or charges. Customer service was great! It was handled very well and no hassle to us. My husband did the install and he had no troubles. This fan gives very good lighting, as well. We love Hampton Bay products! April 28, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Not very bright I have this in 2 bedrooms & I love it. Very transitional...Very attractive, but the light isn't very bright. It's fine if it's not the only light in the room, but too dim for reading or makeup. My electrician installed it, so I can't speak of installation. May 18, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Sleek and quiet Nice fan for our living room, looks sleek, it's quiet, nice remote too June 7, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice Fan Easy to install and quiet. Installed without remote and added sliders for the fan and light. I will buy this again for another room. September 22, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great fan for the price This fan was really nice looking and gave the option of either being hard-wired or remote controlled. I chose hard-wired as I hate having remotes lying around. Looks really nice and I like that it uses CFL bulbs so I don't need to have different bulbs. March 4, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Beautiful fan... Tough installation This fan is beautiful and gives off good light. It's uses 2 standard 14w CFL bulbs, which is convenient... No need to go out and get special bulbs. The remote is also a nice feature. However, installation was tough. After a trip to buy wire cutters, we were able to finally shove all the wires into the base. The base is very small and should be deeper and wider to accommodate the wires and remote receiver. Overall, we are happy with our purchase, but I'm glad we don't have to go through the pain of installation again. December 22, 2013
