can this fan be used on a sloped ceiling
Asked by: Ron
Yes. If you have a steep pitch, may need an additional canopy (pitch accommodation is limited). My ceiling pitch is 4/12 or 5/12 max, and installed fine.

Aesthetics of the fan looks great but the fan wobbles crazy at medium and high speeds. The installation was fairly easy for a DIY project if you have some knowledge of the electric connection. For a fan as expensive as this one, I would expect better build quality and stable rotation which isn't the case. Not recommended due to poor balancing of the fan.

However, the fan blades are NOT the color seen in the picture. They are VERY dark- so very little to no contrast between the base and the blades. Also, the light covering is cheap looking. As this fan installed before I was able to see it, I cannot return but would have if given the chance.

I did not install this myself as this was a new electrical install (i.e. no fixture previously) and on cathedral ceiling. Installer stated blades were more difficult than usual to align screw holes, otherwise no complaints. Love the design of this fan (the only other fans that I have seen that are comparable are Kichler - 3 times the price of this one). As others have stated, the light is not adequate for reading, etc., but the light consideration was secondary to me (I have other light sources and plenty of natural light). I actually like the soft light that this fan provides for my living room - nice ambience. The fan moves air nicely through my living area (when sitting under it, only low is tolerable to me) and there is no wobble whatsoever (24" downrod). My only complaint (and it is definitely a complaint) is that the fan motor has a hum that I have not experienced with any other ceiling fan I have had (including other Hampton Bay fans). Overall, very pleased with this fan in the two weeks that it has been up.

The instructions explained the steps clearly and by the forth fan I had my installation time down to 35 mins from 2 hours. We like the clean finish of the fan.

The fan makes an odd, high pitched whomping noise as they turn, as well as the occasional clicking noise that I'm more accustomed to with a ceiling fans. I have two of these fans and they both do it. To my ears, the noise is irritating.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Stylish and dim light ouput. The fan has a modern stylish look and puts out a lot of air. The installation was very easy, the only problem that i ran into was when the fan was on high it would wobble slightly. I used the balancing weights that came with the fan and that eliminated the wobble. What i don't like about the fan is how much light it puts out, i knew the light was going to be dim because of the white layer in the globe. But l did not think it was going to be this bad. Even after changing the bulbs to ones with a higher lumen rating the difference was not that noticeable. If you want a stylish and quiet fan for a room in your house this is it, but if you need that fan as a primary light source or even secondary source look elsewhere cause you will be disappointed.
